I downloaded the beta software and ran the advisor. it says my G45 based computer is not HDCP. But it is. Now what? Where's the program?

Perhaps the Cyberlink software doesn’t like HDMI being passed through an intermediate device?

i just tested with a one of the directv hddvrs here at work, interface is alright.  it just seems odd to me that that there isnt an option for scheduling recordings through the interface, since all you can do is watch recorded shows through it.  but i guess i just have high expectations of what software/hardware of this nature should be capable of doing.

I’ve always disliked Cyberlink Software but perhaps they just designed the transport software rather then the interface.

i would imagine they are providing the codec, during the install process i saw file names like "h264*.dll" or something of that nature

I know that the Linksys DMA2200 won't properly detect HDMI run through my Onkyo...Perhaps the same issue with DirecTV2PC?

On the DirecTV2PC software, I installed on my Vista Home Premium system and it worked without a hitch.  Bummer that you can only watch prerecorded shows, but the quality seems good enough that I'll actually use it.  I hope they do extend the functionality soon.  A major benefit is that it frees me from having to record items in the theater that we already record on our HD-DVR upstairs.  Quality looks and sounds surprisingly good to me.  I'm running on a wired gigabit network, so no issues there, either.

Supposedly this is the 1st step to one of the "holy grails" of DirecTV.

Multi Room Viewing ( which TIVO has been doing forever and if you hacked your DIRECTV TIVO you could also ) I installled it and while it can play back over the network from both of my HR20s The quality is good not great in my opinion. What I want is to be able to watch shows at any TV location and archive recordings to my NAS box which I could do with my HDTIVO. We'll see if MRV is next as it is being hinted at DBStalk.com;

For Directv2PC?  Still in open beta.  Works well though.  Still have to activate it.

For MRV?  Still in beta.  Reports say it'll be out sometime this summer for the general public.  Others say in a couple of months or so.

Multiroom viewing.  The ability to play back recorded content on one DVR from another DVR located somewhere else in your house and on your network.  You record the nightly news in the family room but view it in the bedroom as an example.
