    For what it's worth to anyone on here, I've managed to get PowerDVD9 within VMC to play ripped ISO's. I'm not sure if someone else has discovered this and posted or not - haven't read all the posts - but figured I'd post this anyway.

    Here's how I did it:

    Firstly, I am using Open Media Library (Google it to find the software, it is free) to manage my DVD/BD collection.

    OML has real nice integration with VMC (I liked it way better than My Movies which never seemed to work for me). It also allows you to specify image mounting software, like DAEMON Tools or VCD. And it also allows you to specify external players for BD's. These options are in the Settings-> Image Mounting and ->External Players menu within OML.

    Here's the catch though, set the external player for BD's in OML to "none" and tell it where to find your image mounting software. Also, you should go into VMC setup General->Program Library Options->Edit Program Library and remove any external players associated with BD's, for some reason I had "My Movie's HD" in there, only "Play Blu-Ray Disc" should be checked (that's for PDVD9).

    Now, when I navigate back to OML, select my BD movie from the list, OML uses the image mounter to launch the image, then VMC takes over and uses the integrated PDVD9 to play the BD.

    The only quirk that I've seen to this approach is that when the integrated PDVD9 application is actually launched within VMC I get a popup saying the following: "INVALID APPLICATION / Unable to launch "Custom menu" / [] Disable this Application / [OK]". Well I don't think you should check that box! I haven't, I just hit OK to remove the window and the movie plays fine.

    I hope you all find this helpful...

    I have just tried this but when the Blu-ray ISO is mounted the standalone PowerDVD 9 player is launched on top of VMC, it doesn't use the integrated played. I have settings as you suggested.

    The OML interface is nice, I prefer it over My Movies. Have you tried Media Browser? Will it mount ISOs? I have just installed it on my system but it fails to start.

    I have Media Browser implemented on my VMC configuration and have had simluar results with RC7 as well.  I am using MB to play all my BluRays (with PDVD 9), DVDs, and Videos.  All worked fine on RC7 at least until RC7 crashed and blew up my system (but that is another story).  I am currently back on Vista and have no issues with MB, ISOs, and PDVD9.  I use the integrated interface that PDVD has provided in VMC.  It is much better than PDVD8.

      When I use PDVD9 I use The Virtual Clone Drive Daemon to mount my ISO (slysoft.com).  Media Browser does a good job of mounting the ISO files.  However, you will need to make sure automount is configured  in MB and Vista or RC7.  I have has the best sucess with VCDDaemon Virtual Clone app to mount the iso.  MB will automate this when automount is configured.   Here is a link to good thread on the setup for Media Browser with PDVD9 that I had with Sam Saffron   http://www.mediabrowser.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2129  You will need to join the forum

    Good luck.

    I have powerDVD 9 and it integrates fine with Media Center. My problem is that whenever i play a DVD in VMC i have to choose between using media center and PowerDVD. Is there some way to set a default? The windows auto-play settings seem to be ignored.

    i have been looking all morning and havent figured this out.  I can handle having to choose each time, but it will just annoy the wife.  Annoying an 8 month pregnant woman is not a good idea.

    Paul, will OML work with VOB files vs. ISOs/mounting?  I save all of my DVDs and blu rays to files vs. images.

    Do you know of a good summarization of the Windows 7 integration "seamlessness" comparison between PowerDVD 9 and Arcsoft Total Media Theatre?

    As long as you don't mind Media Center being the default, you can do this.  Here is my .REG file for doing it to TotalMedia Theatre 3, just go into the registry and delete the corresponding things for PowerDVD.  I returned my license for PDVD, otherwise I would give you a proper .REG.  The basic gist works, though.

    Windows Registry Script

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\AutoPlayHandlers\Handlers\ArcSoftTotalMediaTheatre3]
    "Action"=-
    "InvokeMCL"=-

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\AutoPlayHandlers\Handlers\ArcSoftTotalMediaTheatre3]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\AutoPlayHandlers\EventHandlers\PlayDVDMovieOnArrival]
    "ArcSoftTotalMediaTheatre3"=-

    Win7 x64 / GA-MA78GPM-DS2H / Phenom 9350e / 9400GT 1GB Silent / 4GB OCZ 1066Mhz / WD15EADS 1.5TB / BDU-X10S Blu-Ray / Baltimore/Washington D.C. Markets / FiOS ClearQAM / ATSC / TMT 5 / Bravia KDL-40WL140 / Roku XD for streaming since MC sucks at it

    Does anyone know why PDVD 9 Ultra crashes when I switch to cinema mode? The only way to get it working again is a reinstall. (and not switching to cinema mode again, of course)

    Also the Windows Media Center integration doesn't work. It might be related to the 1st issue.  When I click on Play Blu Ray from MCE, the Media Center UI minimizes and that's it.

    If I use the non cinema mode, it works just fine... however it obviously not the way I'd wait it.

     I also got this problem when wanting to try out the Cinema Mode, but got it fixed without a re-install. Open REGEDIT and find your way to the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyberlink\PowerDVD9" key. Select the value "UI_PDVDLaunchPolicy" which is probably set to "1" and change it to "0". Now you can start PDVD again, no reboot or anything...

     Watching my ripped Clone Wars BD iso now!

    got a chance to do this morning to do this and it worked without issue.  I did export the keys from the registry should for whatever reason I choose to restore it.  Also, I demonstrated to my wife before fixing and she confirmed that it would not have been acceptable.

    Sorry, been off the site for a while and just saw these questions... for this one I think your problem might be that you have specified in the external players menu (under setup) in OML that you want to use PDV9 to play Blu-Rays.  That is what you would do if you did not have the VMC plug-in.  Since you do, you should leave that field blank in OML.  When you select the movie in OML, the program will launch the PDVD9 application within VMC.

    To this question, I really don't know, but I wouldn't think so.  Basically all that OML is doing is 'executing' the ISO file.  Since the ISO extension is associated with your image mounting software, VMC picks up that a Blu-Ray disc has been "inserted" and automatically launches the PDVD9 player plug-in.

     I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this, but if you are referring to integration within Media Center (VMC in my case), I have used both and I honestly can't tell a difference between the two.  TMT 3 Platinum can be downloaded on a trial basis (not sure about PDVD9) and that has all the MC integration included.

    So has anyone ever figured this out?  I am considering PowerDVD9 but hate the thought of having it ask this each time for an archived DVD AND using Media Center's player certainly isn't an option due to poor picture quality and lack of upscaling/sharpening.
