Just ordered mine on Amazon. Come on guys, let's go ahead and show our support for the huge improvements and supporting many of our needs!! I know there are still items on all of our hitlists for improvements, but I have to say that I am very happy with this release compared to previous and I am ok with my wallet being a little lighter in support.
Thanks MS and congrats on the release!
Wow... just wow...
Did you get a party pack or something?

$150 Family Pack upgrade - 3 licenses
You can read about it if you missed the news at the MS Windows Blog: http://windowsteamblog.com/blogs/windows7/archive/2009/07/31/windows-anytime-upgrade-and-family-pack-pricing.aspx
I picked mine up on Amazon pre-order this am: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Windows-Premium-Family-3-User/dp/B002MV2MG0/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1255904941&sr=8-9
The Blog says "until supplies last" ...
$50 a licence in a pack of 3, wow, that is a really good price. People thinking about upgrading to 7 who have a few computers in their home should jump on this.

Thanks for the link on that. I hunted high and low on their site and "Windows 7 family pack" does not produce the product page. I picked up my family pack today. If MS would offer deals like this more often they could thwart pirates a little better.
Thanks for the heads up, I just ordered two.
I'm torn on what to do. I have 3 PCs, but have Vista Ultimate on all 3. From what I read, I should proably consider at least the professional. But maybe I need to read more
In particular, I want to be sure it will run all my apps, and do the backup in particular. When I look at teh edition comparison at Microsoft, I see this for Professional: "
In addition to full-system Backup and Restore found in all editions, you can back up to a home or business network." I do differential backups nightly to a server, and this implies to me that the premium would not allow this
Upgrading 3 to Pro is expensive enough that I'm not sure I want to make that expenditure.
[EDIT]
Oh, also, I want to do remote control to the PCs. I'm thinking I had read that rquired PRO as well.
Put the $$ saved into WHS then the backup feature built into the OS will be a moot point.
Anyone see how to get release day shipping from Amazon on the family pack?

johnhardyiv Anyone see how to get release day shipping from Amazon on the family pack?
Saw mine shipped today. Amazon is always good about meeting release targets by shipping ahead.
Indeed, mine arrived today too. Thanks Amazon and thanks for the note that the pack was available. :)
Best deal I've seen on the family pack so far was Costco today at $124 for the three upgrade version. FWIW. They had a good number of them.
Sams Club on line has it for $129.95 for all you folks that don't belong to CostCo.
