Looks like we will finally find out what SiliconDust has been up to. http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7873&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45&sid=fc0e8bb893aaa79584202f2ef46f329b
Well, for $150 more and 2 extra tuners, the Ceton looks better now!

unless you dont have a free pci-e slot and want networked tuner :)
When are these solutions coming out?
Ceton?
SiliconDust?
This is great. I will buy one of the Ceton Cards for my main server, and two of these for my low profile PC's. Who needs Softsled?
I am disappointed but at least it's a start.
I would have so jumped on this if it were 4-6 tuners. I am even willing to pay up to $500 for a 4 tuner version, but it looks like i'll be going with Ceton.

-shared guide
-single point to schedule recording and store schedule history
-single point for video file and dvd bookmarks

The shared guide isn't a big deal anymore since each PC will have a tuner. A little more of a pain to setup the channels on each system but hopefully you'll only be doing that once. For single point to schedule recordings is nice but got an idea on that now. If you still have my e-mail add me to Google Talk to discuss. The single point for dvd bookmarks is simple enough, not sure about the video files though it would be nice.
mikinhoBtw, I still want the real Softsled but I don't care as much either. The only thing the network tuner wouldn't do is make DRM protected recordings viewable on multiple machines. Not a big deal for me but worth mentioning.
Actually, why can't they be allowed to let other PCs play the content but not copy it? Isn't MS DRM strong enough for that? I mean, it's on my home network, right?
Anyhoos, back on topic. This is a good move for SiliconDust.

Agreed. Budget permitting I'll be getting a quad Ceton for the primary HTPC and 1 or 2 Silicon Dusts for the mini-HTPCs. The primary for all recording.

It's not up to MS. It's the content providers that decide if it can be copied. All the content that my Charter sends to me is "Copy Freely" not sure how long that will last.
Understood. I'm just talking about -playing- the content
