Hello everybody.
Introducing a new Media Center plug-in called CoreTempMC.
CoreTempMC lets you monitor your processor's temperature, load and frequency from the Media Center UI without the need to minimize it and using other utilities.
It is an extension of the Core Temp application, which I'm sure many of you are familiar with. Core Temp is required for CoreTempMC to work.
Here's a screenshot of it in action (click for full size):

At this stage it is really basic UI and function wise. I plan to improve it further if there's interest and good feedback from you guys.
How about adding disk and memory info to it also? There is no easy way to check disk usage from within MC!

Win7 Ultimate x32 SP1, Harmony 700, Comcast Houston (cable co), Cooler Master Elite 360 Mini Tower case on it's side, ASUS M4A87TD-USB3 MB, AMD Phenom II 555 Black DualCore, 4G RAM, PNY GT440 1gb DDR5, 160GB SATA II (OS) - AHCI, 1TB SATA II (DATA) - AHCI, LG GGC-H20LK Combo drive, TMT3, Ceton InfiniTV 4, Onkyo TX-SR608, Samsung PN50C550
Good idea. When I have some extra time to work on it, I'll do it
Will this work on extenders? I would like to view my Media Center's temp without having to go to the basement.
I don't know. I've never worked with extenders before.
The apps installs on your media center pc as an "Extra" application, if you have access to them on the extender, then I guess that it should work.
chanmanx2kThank you for this! I use Coretemp all the time and this will help out tremendously. Could you also get fan speeds on this?
Well, Core Temp doesn't support this kind of thing, since fan speed and other sensors are motherboard dependant. Core Temp only focuses on the processor itself.
I have updated the addin.
The list of changes isn't big, but it's making progress.
And hard disk info is coming?
mmathenyAnd hard disk info is coming?
Yes, hopefully in the next release.
I still need to figure out how to display it on the screen.
this is great. thanks for sharing!
Nice.
I made a shortcut to coretemp and set it to run minimized.
Put it in the startup folder.
Only shows in taskbar and plugin.
Thank you.
Thanks - One of the most useful plugins I have come across in a long time.
I would like it to run without having the other windows app running. Don't you have an API to use directly from your code behind dll?
Perhaps show disk and memory allocation using a pie chart instead would be nice, like the whs connector does for whs storage.
Great app non the less!!
