Hi, Ive looked everywhere to find people with the following problem and it seems it is only affecting perople in New Zealand.
Th TV pack works well with DVB-S in New Zealand besides Scheduled recordings dissapear and recordings stop early. It seems to always happen 1 minute past the hour. For example if a programme is recording from 7:30pm to 8:30pm it will stop at 8:01pm with a "conflicting recording" error in the logs. There was defently no conflicting recording and when that happens all the future scheduled recordings disappear.
Any ideas?
Cheers
I believe this is a bug that seems particular to channels that get their EPG data solely from inband, and also something to do with the New Zealand inband data. The one instance Ive seen on this was missed recordings on channel 3.
I've asked Microsoft NZ, if any of their employees can reproduce the problem (so we can get more information and get to the root of the problem) - however with no response. I'll try pinging them again.
This is gonna sound odd, but I went into edit the channel and I chose to Edit the Source for the channel. I have 2 different DVB-S cards and I swapped the order around. After saving and editing the rest of the channels the same way, it's now not dropping the schedule. I'll have to see if it actually records the whole thing when the scheduled recording begins, but this is further than I was before.
Thanks for the info!
smic717394:I think I might have found the cause. Its the Guide. I changed some channels listing from "Use data from Broadcaster" and now those channels are OK. Settings>>TV>>Guide>>Select the channel and Edit>> Change Data from "Use from Broadcaster" to a channel name. Can someone find a sollution to use the data from the brodcaster.
Another Guide-related issue? Hmmm....
Hmmm ok.
It wasn't the answer. I scheduled some shows to record and had some overlapping to test my theory out. As soon as it started rescording 1 show, it dropped them all.
Oh well, back to the drawing board!

You are editing the source. When you edit the source you only edit what TV card to use for specific channels. You should edit the listing for the channel, To edit the channel easier I seen if you go to guide to the channel you want click i (more) then click Edit Channel and then click Edit Listings. When you edit the channel listing it comes on top with the channel name say Channel 5 then bellow you can choose the source of the guide just like before TV Pack, but now there is a new option "from broadcaster", what i did on mine edit the channel and instead of "..from broadcaster" scroll down and find the channel name in this case Channel 5, works for me. I left some as they where and i changed some as described, the channels i changed works perfect now, the other drops the recordings.
Thanks for the suggestion,
But, I don't have "...from broadcaster" as an option. VMC is getting it's guide data directly from the DVB-S feed and it's not actually downloading any EPG data from an external source.
So, I'm still stuck just like all the other New Zealand users...
Hi!
It is nice to see someone from MS answering here. I have posted about my issues with the tv pack at the beta forum at connect, but no response. So here it goes:
1) If I schedule a recording series, usually after one or two weeks, the series recording just disappears. So now I have to check the "scheduled recordings" every other day just to make sure it is still records my familys favourite series. If this is a bug in teh EPG or in the EPG data, I don't know. but it is very annoying, and I didnt have this problem in the earlier version.
2) Sometimes my schedulred recordings stop at the same second they start, with a message stating that a conflicting recording was found. This is bs, because that was the only recording scheduled that day. I haven't been able to trace this to any particular time/channel/date. I am VERY happy to send my log files to MS, but it seems the connect site is rather dead. Can I send it here?
3) Sometimes on certain channels, recordings doesnt start because it says it can't find the tv tuner. But when I check the channel it works perfectly. Perhaps a problem when the computer resumes from S3 and the tv card hasn't been fully enabled when the recording starts? Is there any check to make sure the tv card is fully "awakened" before recording starts???
4) When recording programs like eurosport that has teletext, I get teletext from another source, it is usually just some random characters, and I can't seem to turn them off. Very irritating. I recorded lots of olympics programs from eurosport, and on every program there where these random text parts displaying on the screen. it had nothing to do with the program, because the speaker was in swedish (no need for texting)
Other than this, the tv pack is working great. But the above issues are really killing me. We have already missed several episodes of certain tv shows that doesn't have reruns. Please investigate, I am happy to send you all the info I can, just like I did during the beta!!
kind regards
Henrik
