    Hi,

I installed this update and tried a test recording and got this

Recording of Ellen began as scheduled on 8/12/2008 3:00:24 p.m. and stopped early on 8/12/2008 3:01:05 p.m. when a conflicting recording was scheduled.

this recording lasted one minute, was this update ment to fix that issue?

    Hi,
before and after this update (thanks for the update, by the way), on a FRESH installation of SP1 + TV Pack I have the following behavior:

    1. Select any program to be recorded from the Guide
    2. Put machine to sleep (S3+S4)
    3. Wake machine, find the following warning in event log: "Recording of XYZ began as scheduled on 13.12.2008 22:58:00 and was manually stopped on 13.12.2008 22:57:01."

Where 13.12.2008 22:57:01 is the exact time when I put the machine to sleep.

So, it appears that if I put the machine to sleep just before it should start recording, the scheduled recording is removed.

I have one channel (BBC One DVBt) that seems to have problems, series records don't work, so I manually set the program to record and on several occasions the recording has just disappeared as if I've not set it. I also had at least one instance of a program recorded in three sections (again BBC 1) and also of a recording conflict even though there was not (BBC1 I think)

Is this patch available by automatic updates? If so I should already have it, if not I will check later and install it.
  •
Well I just like to say that the patch looks like it's fixed my series record problems on BBC1, just had a look at the guide for Saturday and all programs that should have been series record are now set, well done to the guys at MS, thanks.

Just like to add that it was not on Windows Update, so I manually downloaded and installed.

I've just installed this hotfix as my TV guide seems to download properly but as it stands now I don't have any guide info past midnight Sat 27th December which is only 9 days.

    1) Shouldn't the guide be 14 days?
    2) It was the same yesterday as it is today, so I know at least I would have 1 more day's worth today if the guide only give me 9 days at a time..?

I live in the UK and am using a DVB-S card for Freesat.

Any help appreciated as I would like to sort out the guide before my few days away otherwise I will miss recordings!

PS forgot to mention that there are a few channels for which I don't get any data unless I watch that channel and then I just get now and next. These are:

    Simply Movies
    Movies4Men+1
    Al Jazeera News English
    EuroNews
    Movies4Men2
TrueMovies 2 (but True Movies is ok?)
    Zone Thriller
    Zone Romantica
    CNN

    TIA

    any suggestions at all please?

Guide listings will be at most 14 days. In some countries it is less. Also when there is a problem in the importing/processing of the listings on the Microsoft server side, then the number of days starts dropping down (however such issues are usually corrected before anyone notices).

There was a tv pack bug where it would lose the subscriptions to download the listings. To see if you're encountering this. goto tasks->settings->tv->guide and see if there is an about guide listings button. If not, ensure that you have the lastest update for TV Pack (http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/permalink/319060/314300/ShowThread.aspx#314300) installed and go through tv signal setup again (under tasks->settings->tv)

Thank you for the reply Mike. I had just run the hotfix, redid the TV setup (went through all the channel setup again...after the 8th or 9th time it all becomes a blur and it only takes about an hour!) and now it all seems hunky-dorey!

Although there is an odd issue where a couple of channels don't have any TV listings and when I edit their listings there are no other channels I can get the listings from. i.e there are a number of BBC 1 channels so I can choose the listing from say BBC1 W Mids, but there is only the one ITV4+1 with no listings along with all the Zone Channels,  Simply Movies and the Movies4 Men channels.  These all only get a now/next listing when I watch the channel?

I installed and tested this update the past few weeks.

It has solved a number of problems; most important: the problem of the disappearing recordings.

But not all TV pack recording problems have disappeared...
It still occurs that recordings are cut into multiple short recordings (e.g. the first part contains the first 15 minutes of the recording; the second the following 2 minutes; etc.).
What also happens is this. I have a number of TV stations whose guide listings are included in the downloadable EPG but guide info is also broadcasted via DVB. I told Media Center to use the downloaded EPG and instructed it to record a number of programs that are broadcasted by this station. Media Center indeed starts recording the programs it should record, but then discovers the guide data broadcasted by the station and starts another recording of the same program based on the guide data it got from the DVB stream.

I use two DVB tuners and define most of my recordings via keywords (general keywords or keywords in the program title).

  •

Based on recent posts to the forums, there still appear to be issues with recordings on DVB-T/S tuners. I've contacted Oebele directly about the problems mentioned above, and I'll respond on this thread if/when we find a solution.

If anyone is still seeing issues with split or partial recordings after installing KB957209 on a DVB-S/T or ISDB-T system, please post the details of the problem (most importantly: your signal types, the steps needed to reproduce the problem, and the end result) to the forums or send me a private message. Please understand that I can't promise to investigate or respond to every single complaint, but I'll do my best to identify the unique issues we need to work on.

    Hi,
before and after this update (thanks for the update, by the way), on a FRESH installation of SP1 + TV Pack I have the following behavior:

This is my problem exactly, the patch is installed and even if I schedule a recording 10 min. ahead and put the system in standby. The recording is removed. At the exact time I put the system to sleep.

    Please help me .... :(

Thanks for the report guys. Does the same thing happen if you try to put the machine to sleep during an on-going recording?

If I try and put it into standby during a recording, it goes into away mode. No problem there.

I also just tried "crossed my fingers" to schedule a recording via the program guide, 25 minutes before it actually started. Put the pc into sleep. and waited... woohoo it woke and began the recording, finished to the end. No problem.

Must be said it has been a while since I had any recordings scheduled.

I just found today after doing some software upgrades, that I had to test the recording option to be sure it still worked. So i went and scheduled a maual recording.

It kept failing I tried numerous things, uninstalled MST Tool, deleted all the epg folder under ehome and redid a tuner configuration. To no avail, it still wouldn´t record a manual schedule. It kept on deleting it every single time the machine was put into sleep.

So i thought to hell with it, and configured the system as it was, mith MST tool and all.

Rebooted, and migically the recording mentioned above was succesfully run, on time and unattended.

Maybe I only have a problem if i schedule something manually... time and testing will tell....

    >Does the same thing happen if you try to put the machine to sleep during an on-going recording?

Yes, same thing happens. When resuming from S3, Media Center doesn't resume recording of the ongoing program.

When recording a ongoing program and going to S3 and coming back I see the following in Event log: "Recording of XYZ began as scheduled on 3.1.2009 20:40:26 and was manually stopped on 3.1.2009 20:41:06.", where the first time is the time when I pressed REC and latter is the time when I put the machine to S3.

That error message is of course correct, it should stop the recording when going to S3, but it should continue the recording if resumed during the time when that program is still on air.
