Hey BTDT yes the play/pause/rewind/ff all work using my remote and the imon software. Is there any chance that there is a fix in the works?
I also have a second issue with the NetFlix plugin. The first time I load the plugin and try to select an item to play from my instant queue list it just sits there with the windows vista loading circle until i close out Media Center. However, when I try to play an item from the instant queue after bringing Media Center back up it works without issue. Is this a known issue?
[Edit] to further specify. The blue vista media center background stays with the loading circle. I can back out into the main MC menu but the loading circle doesnt disappear until I close out media center. I am then able to use the streaming function in NetFlix.
jslatour:I'm currently getting this pop-up error:INTERNET CONNECTIONThere was a problem retrieving data. Verify your Internet connection and try again.[OK]My Internet connection is up, and I can get in the Sports channel fine, as well as check my fantasy baseball stats in the Sports - Players section with no problem. First time I saw this was right after stopping a playing movie, and it hasn't stopped since it started. Quit Media Center and restarted, no change. I haven't had an chance to reboot the whole box yet (shows are set to record) but if the error still lingers later on I will. Thanks,JohnEdit: Message went away on its own. Hopefully it'll stay gone.
I just started using this native plug-in on my bedroom media center and noticed something peculiar. When I go into a certain genre (e.g. Children and Family) it's only showing 92 titles. When I login to my account on my pc and go into the Children and Family genre I can see there are 340 titles. I noticed when looking through the other genres it never shows more than 100, normally it stops in the 90's. Are others see this and is there a way to fix it so it shows all the titles in the selected genre?
My main media center was not showing the icon. I checked the NetTVResources.dll file size in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\Packages\NetTV\Browse and found it to be 31KB rather than the 407KB it was on my other media center that had the Netflix icon showing up. I copied the file from the working media center and relaunched MCE and the icon appeared. I found these instructions from someone else on this board so I cannot take the credit. All I know is it worked for me.
I am also having this exact problem after upgrading to Vista SP2. I removed SP2 and reinstall the netflix app and silverlight but still won't connect. I've seen several people with the same problem but no solutions. It has rendered using the Netflix in Media Center useless. does anyone have a fix?
I am having this same problem. Mine started two days ago. I also have two Netflix buttons on my TV + Movies tab. I have reinstalled netflix and silverlight, with no avail. Any help is appreciated!
Yup, I have the same thing. Two Netflix entry points now in the WMC, one of which always gives me the unable to connect to internet error, the other always asks to install the Netflix app. I spoke with HP tech support and the only answer they came up with was to reinstall Vista (WMC cannot be reinstalled independently), which requires wiping out the system. This is totally a Vista OS bug (nothing to do with the Netflix app).
Same exact problem here... Just wondering how this problem magically fixes itself? Must have something to do with windows update if this is an OS problem. I looked at my history and the last updates that were installed were yesterday at 7:58am . Makes sense. I'm gonna try to uninstall them and see what happens....
I had an update today, and I still cannot get it to work. This is beginning to really irritate me. If anyone has a fix I really need it.
Does anyone from Microsoft read this forum? This is clearly an OS issue which broke the working netflix app with an update within the last week or so. There are a lot of people with 2 netflix apps with neither one of them working. Please let us know if there is a plan to fix this.
All - This was identified today as an incorrect package being sent down after a recent update. It has since been resolved and a force manual download, or simply waiting for an automatic download should remove the duplicate tile. If you are still seeing issues after 24 hours from now, please ping back and let us know.
If you see the duplicate tile go away, but are still unable to launch Netflix correctly, also let us know.
Thanks,
_C
Thanks Chris. Still have 2 entry points, but at least one of them works now. The other just has the install option which doesn't do anything after installing. Any way to get rid of the non-functioning entry point?
