Has anyone tried this with Windows 7 Home Premium lately (writing this on 10th March 2010).
I can't get it to work and think MS might have plugged it with an automatic "security" patch.
I just used it the other day (Saturday) and it worked flawlessly.
Ffs it worked :O
Ill test it out right now, heres the german file if you're interested in a german version of your patch :)

Thanx for ya support :)
Hi,
I don't know if I am doing something wrong, but I don't think so. The installation reports no problems, I can see the .dll file has been changed and I can find the entries that have been changed/added in the registry.
When I try to log on from another Windows 7 Home Premium computer I get:
My server is running a full retail version of Windows 7 Home Premium with all latest patches/fixes. The server acts as an Access Point using a built in WiFi card creating a WLAN for the other computers to connect. I use home network and can share files and stream media no problem. The network drives show up like they should in Windows Explorer.
The server is very basic and is not really running anything except Windows Media Center for now.
Any suggestions would be most helpful.
Try turning the Windows Firewall off completely to see if it's stopping you. I think I did have to manually add an allow for TCP port 3389 now that I think about it. Sorry, forgot I did that.
I forgot to say that I switched off the firewall completely to see if that would make any difference and it didn't. I even disconnected from the Internet and switched off both the home and public.
I guess this should be stronger than allowing TCP port 3389 which I tried to do as well but could not completely figure out how to do properly so I am not 100% sure it was in effect.

I removed the patch by copying back the old termsrv.dll and changing back the registry changes.
I then installed the patch againI added a Firewall rule to allow TCP on port 3389I tried to log on to Myname-PC, Myname-PC:0, 127.0.0.2, 192.168.137.1 but none work ... and it still does not work.

It works fine for me!!
I am running Windows 7 Home premium spanish version. I just had to translate the Administrators group into spanish in the script at the corresponding command line. For your information, in the spanish version this group is called Administradores.
I love the possibility to convert a win7 workstation in a Terminal Server but, is there any way to log on a previously started user session instead of starting a new one everytime I connect?
I have some applications, like Bittorrent, running at the computer and I would like to control them remotely. That's the reason why I need to log in an existing session.

cocoaI'd haven't found a clean way to do this but it works copy the following files from an Ultimate o Pro instalation: windows\system32\umrdp.dll windows\system32\rdpendp.dll windows\system32\drivers\rdpdr.sys you will also need to copy the .mui files for the first two. export the registry keys: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\UmRdpService [1] HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\RDPBUS [1] HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MMDevices\Audio\RemoteCapture HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MMDevices\Audio\RemoteRender HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{4B0A2997-E555-4F84-B45B-68AB8BC57635} after copying the file to the Home Premium pc do: sc create RDPDR binpath= System32\drivers\rdpdr.sys type= kernel depend= "RDBSS" start= demand DisplayName= "Terminal Server Device Redirector Driver" import the reg files and reboot. after reboot make sure the services are running: sc query rdpdr sc query rdpbus sc query umrdpservice [1] Those reg keys need to be imported/exported from a SYSTEM account, to start regedit as system use psexec -sid regedit http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897553.aspx
I copied and imported the files and keys (including importing from a system level account using PSExec) but I can't get the umrdpservice to start. I now get the remote audio icon, and can control the remote audio volume sliders, but I still get no actual sound.

Any ideas on how to get it started?
