I have 2 computers running Win 7 Home Premium. Comp A is wired to the router and has a Hauppauge video card in it. Comp B is wirelessly connected to the network and has no TV card.

On Comp B, I set up  Internet TV - it has a menu icon under TV and clicking that brings up the internet channels available, and I can watch any of them.

On comp A there is no  Internet TV icon in the TV menu. When I open the TV guide, the Internet TV channels show up there. But when I click on any of them nothing happens. I have tried reloading everything available in WMC to no avail.

Can anyone tell me how to get Internet TV working on comp A?  Thanks very much.

i am having the issue of no extras like i had with vista and i can't get download. is there a way to reinstall media center. not that you would know but maybe someone else will know.

Can you check whether Tasks | Settings | General | Automatic download options has both the "Retrieve CD album art... from the internet" and "Automatically download..." options checked? If both are checked, then click the "download now" button, and if prompted, walk through the internet connection wizard then click the "download now" button again. When you get the notification that the download succeeded, return to the start menu and you should see internet TV and Netflix tiles on the tv and movies strips respectively. Hope that helps,

    Jeff

Thanks for the suggestions - however they didn't work. I downloaded the info, wasn't prompted, but redid the internet connection wizard and re-downloaded. Nothing.

This only works when there is not an installation problem with the system and unless the users happens to be an AOL user,  they would know how to do this without your help.  We are asking for real help because no matter what we do we can not get it to work.  I have visited several foruns and I have followed many suggestions none of which have worked.

It appears that there are many people that had some OS installation failure and the feature will not work unless a patch becomes available.  I personally installed three new Windows 7 OS in my home.  The one in a Windows 7 Pro which works, the other Windows 7 Pro and a Windows 7 Ultima do not work.  I have spent many hours trying to resolved this and simple solutions, like when a person does not have a clue will not work.

I started using DOS and Windows in 1995.  I have built several computers starting with Pentium I, II, III and iV.  I currently have in my home a Windows Home Server, A Dell XPS 600, a Toshiba Laptop and VelocityMicro i7 940 with Ultima plus two computers I built from scratch Pentium 4 w/HT, one runs XP and the other Win7.  I taught myself and wrote my first program using Fortran in 1963.  I understand the instructions on how to install and manage software products.  And if I had the source code for these modules I could problably fix this, but since I do not I need help from the software creators.

Can you contact anybody in Microsoft and find out what are they doing to fix this problem and when will they try to implement a solution?  That would be really help.  I was hoping that the SP1 would be released soon but there are not enough discrepancies in Windows 7 for Microsoft to make the capital investment in delivering this SP1 any time soon.

Think about this. You have provided these instrucions to over 100 users.  Do you know how many actually helped?  Probably none.

I've never been able to get Internet TV to work without running through the TV setup, which requires a tuner to complete.  I've tried on a few different machines.  Once I hookup my USB stick tuner i can run the setup and then remove the USB and still have internetTV.

I recently purchased a tuner and it seems to work very well. The play software provided is BlazeDTV and it works great. The image is HD quality and even the EPG show correctly. However, the famous Internet TV is no where to be found. I also notice that there is a forlder inc:\ProgramData/Microsoft/eHome/Packages/EPGlistings that contains files dated with every occurance of my requesting a schedule update (sometimes more than once a day). The files are shown as a type .tmp which means that there is a program that reads and reformats for display of the schedule in WMC 7 that is not working. Can any body look into this and check with the talented Microsoft software development team why this is happening?

I had a similar problem with a win7 pro install for my HTPC.  My initial set-up of the HTPC did not show internet tv or Netflix.  This was a clean install via a technet subscription.

I had media center running on the HTPC and then used remote desktop (from a win7 ultimate machine) to make some changes on the HTPC, including the advice to "force" a media center download to receive internet tv.  When the rdp session initiated, it gave a complaint about media center.  I don't remember the exact wording, but it was something to the effect of ‘running unsupported media center version’.  I took this to mean that certain media center functions wouldn’t work over rdp, but this was an assumption on my part as I could start and run media center via rdp.

Long story short I couldn’t get internet tv or Netflix to appear when forcing the download through an rdp session.  I latter rebooted the HTPC and forced a download via a wireless keyboard and mouse.  Still no internet tv love.  I rebooted the system and left.  A day or two latter I went back and both Netflix and internet tv are available.  Curiously internet tv and Netflix are both absent when I rdp into the system – even though they are installed and working.

This is normal. They are not supported via RDP. Just like using an extender.

    Thanks for the verification.

I'm also wondering if trying to force a download via rdp may be part of the reason people are not able to install the internet tv and netflix plugins.

Anybody ever get this figured out?  I have the same problem.  I see the internet tv channels, but nothing happens when I click on them.

Is there any fix for this issue? i have spent countless hours reading forums and trying different things I am about ready to give up and use another software package :(

I have this issue on two computers both running clean fresh installs of windows 7 ultimate (one is 64bit one is 32 bit)

I live in canada and my issue is that I i cant view internet TV, I see guide but cant open anything on there

I have tried setting my locale to USA , keyboard USA (english),  uninstall rein-stall WMC (turning windows feature on/of), disabling windows firewall and downloading, wmc download/update from setting tab,  manual download from mcupdate.exe in ehome folder (run as administrator)

I am at my witts end, please if anyone has any suggestions im open to try something new.

    Thank you

I suggest to all posters to be much more specific regarding your Internet TV problem. Below is my specific problem and no specific answers from forum (GreenButton ot Microsoft Answers) to help troubleshoot/fix:

Can someone assist with possible solutions based on the specificity of my problem with WMC Internet TV? WMC is practically useless without playability of CBS/PBS/Primetime content. I would like to receive some replies that focus on WMC seeming to work properly (opens w/o errors, desktop gadget works/updates,TV Guide works/updates, all tiles are available/selectable, Netflix available/plays, MSNBC/CNBC content plays, non-branded content such as Engadget plays). The one problem is an error message when attempting to play CBS/PBS/Primetime content directly fron TV Guide or tiles "Internet TV is currently unavailable. Please try again later. An error occurred loading media center sdd-in for flash application." Thanks.

I should note that I have no problems with any other Web content on my HTPC and will just default to HULU and browsing individual streaming content on station websites, if no one can suggest some practical t-shooting tips/advise. May be time to put WMC on the back-burner, as it does not seem ready for "prime-time".
