If after un-installing the codecs (and I don't think that has anything to do with it) and you still have the problem, check this post.

I had pretty much the same issue (known Issue) and with a little registry fix, it solved my problem.

that's what fixed it for me (knock on wood) as well... (registry change to disable background channel scanner)
MontywardSame thing has happened to me on win 7 RC. I haven't seen it in a bit and I chalked it up to some guidedata issues I was having.
MontywardIt seemed to correct itself when my guide finally started updating properly. At one point I had only 7 days of guide data. Wish I had more of a fix for you.
morphinapgAlso, Media Center recorded the first 2 minutes of one program, and seemed to be recording the second program just fine. However, the first program stopped recording after 2 minutes. Here's the error for the one that stopped: "Recording of Community: Environmental Science began as scheduled on 11/19/2009 7:58:06 PM and stopped early on 11/19/2009 8:00:13 PM due to a schedule change." There was no schedule change, I don't know what it's talking about.
I have had a couple of these errors too (so-called schedule change) and what I notice is the guide doesnt actually change at all, its just 7MC deciding to stop for some reason. The last time was last Saturday where at about 9:02pm it stopped recording X Factor with this exact same error.
Not much use when you cant rely on it.

morphinapgI just installed my second HVR-1250 yesterday and it worked fine yesterday while recording two shows at once. However, tonight while recording two shows, I got an error message saying it couldn't record. When I went into Media Center and tried to watch the second channel manually, it said no tuner available. I restarted, and everything worked fine. Then later tonight (late night) it was again supposed to record two programs at once and the same problem happened. When I restarted, it worked just fine again. I don't want to have to restart every time two shows are supposed to record. What's going on here?

I started seeing these same errors when I updated the firmware for my ATI Digital Cable Tuner. When it would happen, none of my five tuners would tune Live TV, and I had to reboot the PC. Also, about that same time, one of my tuners spontaneously stopped working no matter what. Fixed by re-running TV Setup. I suspect that driver/hardware changes aren't being handled very gracefully by Media Center's existing setup.
