No AC3 sound in WMC

    I have a few AVI files that contain AC3 sound that play in Windows Media Player after installing AC3 filter, but fail to play in Windows Media Center. The Video play perfect in both Media Center and Media Player but sound in Media Center is completely dead with no errors. I've tried to install, reinstall, adjust and configure different codec packs but with no luck. Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong and help me figure out this issue because its driving me up the wall. Thanks

    Did you go through the sound setup in Media Center (Media Center setup) ?

    If you didn't Media Center could be thinking that you only have 2.0 or analog and will not output a 5.1 signal.
