Hi all,

I recently upgraded Vista to Windows 7. Formerly i recorded TV in Vista to the .dvr-ms format, which showed thumbnails correctly in all places like File Explorer, Media Player and MCE itself. Now i record TV to the new .wtv format, but that only shows thumbnails in MCE. File Explorer and Media Player just show icons.

After many hours of Googling and having tried all possible solutions i could find, i haven't been able to sort this out. One thing that keeps coming back on the Internet is that only the original Microsoft codecs are believed to produce thumbnails. Since i've been using the Shark's 007 Codec Pack for years, i uninstalled that and using MCDU i checked which codecs are really being used. Standard Microsoft it said. So i'm stunned...
