I thought I had resolved the issue when I built a new DIY Server, and upgraded the HTPC to Windows 7, alas the same issue.About an hour into a movie, Media Center just freezes. Sometimes it will kick out to the main screen, and others it just sits there at the frozen screen, and I have to manually back it out. I have no idea why it's doing this. The other PCs on the network don't do this, whether running W7, or Vista. It's very distracting when you're engrossed in a movie. The other thing is, if we watch a movie right after that, all will be fine. It seem that it only does it on the first movie when turning on the system.I have the screen saver turned off.I have a DIY server running WHS PP3, connected to a GS105NA switch, and wired to a HTPC running Windows 7, connected to an Onkyo SR605 receiver optically, and a Panasonic HC1500 projector over HDMI.I'd really like to figure this thing out, cause the wife is starting to lose interest in having a HTPC if it's gonna freeze up like this.Any help appreciated!!Sean
BUMP!
Anyone with an idea?!
Bad RAM and/or overheating would be my first guess.
The RAM seems to check out OK.
I can't imagine it was overheating, if after that initial freeze at the one hour mark, it will continue to work flawlessly for the next 4 hours.
The other thing it could be is the NIC and/or NIC drivers. If you are saying it only happens on that one PC you are likely going to be looking for one or more of those things I posted.
