So with the recent announcement that Comcast will be broadcasting the Masters in 3D I began thinking how these 3D channels are going to work with a Media Center Cablecard setup. Assuming that I have a 3D-ready television, will I be able to watch these channels through an Xbox 360 extender (or even directly from the computer) with the ATI or Ceton tuners? Or will these 3D channels be restricted to set top boxes like On Demand?

ATI only recently announced 3d support - but no product does at this time. NVidia I believe is the only one to market with it at this time, so even if MCE supports it and we just don't know because noone has a 3d signal to test it, the answer will be most likely no.

Good question, I was wondering this myself.

Not sure if 3-D will be coming with HDMI 1.3/1.4, there is a lot that is not 100% on it...

3D will only be supported in HDMI 1.4, there is not enough bandwidth for the 3D signal in 1.3. http://www.blurayfreak.com/2010/03/3d-week-is-hdmi-14-just-about-3d.html Also, (complete speculation) I don't think that 3D will be available anytime soon for Media Center because you need to have the 3D capable graphics card, which needs to work with your CableCard to receive the 3D signal. Also, the graphics cards currently work with games that utilize the graphics card's APIs. You also need a 120hz monitor to view 3D on a computer (and TV). There are a lot of things that have to happen for 3D-TV to work on your computer. If anybody has any evidence about this it would be interesting to know.
