I just ran into the same issue in Leominster, MA.

Tuner:  ATI Cablecard

Channel: NBC

After it failed on my ATI cards it attempted to record on my HDHomerun which was successful

Try going into Tasks --> Guide Setup --> edit channels and running Auto Select. I had this problem before and running auto select re-enabled my recording ability.
