    Can't say i've seen this, wouldn't do Microsoft any good, if they've decided not to support Freesat HD.

    I'v run V3 of the tool - ITV HD was already tuned, but how do I know if the HD flag has been set? Will it show on the guide or will Media just automatically record from ITV HD if I set it to record a program thats on normal ITV, but set as preferred in HD?

    Looking for devices
    * Digital Devices DVB-S/S2 Tuner 1
     - ASTRA 1E,1F,1G,1H,1KR,2C (19.2E) Ignored
     * ASTRA 2A-B-D (28.2E), EUROBIRD 1 (28.5E)
    * Digital Devices DVB-S/S2 Tuner 2
     - ASTRA 1E,1F,1G,1H,1KR,2C (19.2E) Ignored
     * ASTRA 2A-B-D (28.2E), EUROBIRD 1 (28.5E)

    -snip-

    The clue is in the two ignored lines.

    I found a stupid bug in the code that causes it to use the first LNB on each device rather than the one pointing at Astra 2D.
    So it would try to tune the 19.2E LNB to 10832 to receive SID 10000 - hence no signal.
    This version should use the correct LNB.

    I am sorry you will have to run TV Setup again to clear the duff config out.

    Edit: Link removed. Latest version Here

    You only need this version if you get signals from more than satellite.

    As far as I know at this time the flag will have no effect.
    I think that if the flag is set MC will honour the flags on programmes. But as ITV do not supply any guide data for ITV HD (you have to use ITV1 London) Media Center does not know which programmes are in HD, so will treat all as SD.

    In your senario it will only record on ITV1 HD if it is unable to record on ITV1.

    Lookup in listing mags or online which shows are supposed to be HD and set them on ITV1 HD, and everything else on ITV1
    Even ITVs online guide doesn't show which are HD.

    Alban,

     I just re-run tv setup and applied the latest version of you tool. Still no ITV HD...

    The tool I used has the timestamp of 22-04.2010 22:54.

    And again: Thanks for all you've done already!

     Andreas.

    Thanks for the info Alban and the good work, reminds me of when the community had to fix Vista and HD support in TV Pack, I think I'll just set everything to record on ITV HD, as even SD content should be better as it's professionally upscaled. I may even merge the two channels and set ITV HD with the preference, although that could cause problems if there's regional differences.

    Brilliant bit of 7MC engineering; it's been applied and all working. Thank you. I suspect if you wanted some donations, you would get them! We've all seen the 'TV on my PC' promotions by Microsoft, it's disappointing that this really starts and stops with Freeview SD with no mention of FreeviewHD or FreeSat, despite having the H.264 codec built in. Now just to sort the audio over HDMI!!!

    Thanks again.

    As a number of posters have suggested I accept donations for this tool, I have set one up.

    I am not sure what The Green Button policy is regarding this, but if anyone does wish to send me a donation they can use the following link. I leave the amount up to the individual.

    Send Donation for GimmeITVHD

    I am happy to remove this if it is against policy.
