Hi
I have searched for days and tried different things. Maybe I have missed something or it is just near impossible.
For whatever reason some of my TV recordings record as 1min in length. They are .wtv format. It seems that these are the problem files in which, although they play beautifully, they do not conform and become part of a series.
eg. In Recorded TV Media Centre Win 7 - I have a folder say Dr Who. Most of the same show records and appears listed nicely under the folder in the Recorded TV main page. However those ones that seem to record meta data as 1min in length do not snuggle in nicely to the Dr Who folder but are just plonked into the main Recorded TV menu.
I want to know what to edit to make this out of place files, conform so they are able to sit nice under the Series name and in one place.
Any ideas or suggestions would be accepted with much thanks...
Glenn
I can edit the meta data that is used to generate the show info on the bottom of the Win Explorer window but the Title and Episode info that shows under WMC still shows the original title and episode info. Where does the info under RecordedTV come from and how can I edit it?

I've got the same problem. I've tried restarting WMC, moving files, renaming files, and clearing out the metadata fields that others have said cause WMC to ignore its cache and rescan. But all to no avail!
The file recordings.xml doesn't seem to contain details of shows I've recorded since switching from Vista, so I suspect that it's no longer used in Win7.
Has any one found the answer to this? I want to update Meta Data and have that show up in recorded TV. How do we refresh or delete the metadata cache?
