Hi all,
Just today I got a Kworld UB435-Q to record the occasional OTA show on my PC. Setting it up was a piece of cake, but trying to record something is where I ran into issues. I'm hoping someone else has dealt with this before.
I ran through the channel scan process and am able to watch live feeds w/o issue. When I click the record button though, the screen will go blank for about 5 seconds and then I get a message saying there is no signal on that channel and to try again later, even though I was just watching the channel. If I press stop and use the context menu (in the guide) to tell it to stop recording that show, the live feed of the show will come right back. To complicate matters, this issue is intermittent! I was able to record (I'll use channel numbers just for example's sake) channel 8 from live feed, letting it record for thirty seconds. About 15 minutes later I tried on channel 8 again and I got the above error. In between those two attempts, I tried recording on channel 2 and got the error, then 20 minutes later (after the second, and unsuccessful, attempt with channel 8) I was ABLE to record channel 2 just fine.
The only guess I have at this point is that the signal strength is decent enough to view live, but not good enough to sustain recording (by some determination WMC is making behind the scenes) and WMC's error message just isn't explicit enough. My signal strength is not all that hot on any of the channels, but I'm only using the little antennae that came with the tuner. I've used rabbit ears in the past and have been able to grab all slew of HD channels w/o issue so I'll be swapping out the antennae hopefully tomorrow.
So, even though I haven't had a chance to do that final bit of troubleshooting, has any out there come across this before? I'm half-hoping you'll all tell me this is a known issue.
Thanks!

Sounds like you need a better OTA TV Tuner, and a better antenna.
