Afternoon All. Is there any apps out there that give the current status of MCE, say via a web page? I'd like the equivalent of a front mounted LCD, showing things like Extenders Connected: 2, Currently recording: Channel 106: The Simpsons, Planned recordings today: 2. My MCE box lives in the loft and my current solution of waking it up and RDP'ing in is a little inelegant. Any suggestions?

Virgin Media V+ Box. I gave up. MCE beat me.

Take a look at VMC Controller. This will give you a status of what is playing via http or telnet. You will need to send the mediametadata command to get what is playing. It's will also allow you to send commands, play music, prompt message box, and a lot more. http://www.codeplex.com/VmcController
