So I went out and purchased a MagicJack, after tweaking the volume in the control panel for the headset and flashing it with the Windows 7 update, I am very happy with the service and the cost is amazing.

I have the MagicJack plugged into my Media Center because magicjack needs a computer to be on all the time and my media center is, the only thing I had to do was to download and install MagicSilence 1.05 which prevents magicjack from popping up and taking screen priorty as that would be very frustrating when trying to watch tv.

Now My question is does anyone have or had MagicJack to work with the CallerID so it displays the name and number or who is calling? I tried a couple free ones but to know success and I am not sure if it's just the way I set it up or the program itself. I don't want to waste time configuring an app if it isn't going to work. I know it shows on the phone the CallerID but I would also like it to show a popup on the screen as well.

And to clarify, I would like callerID to show WITHOUT using a dialup modem as I have no more pci slots available, I'm sure there must be an app that see's the USB adapter and reconizes it's a phone.

Any help or suggustions would be greatly appreciated,

     Thanks,

    Brian

Take a look at TapiRex, they have numerouse plugins for their software upon installation.  You can always just ask them, they're pretty responsive.
