I just got an ATI DCT Cable Card Tuner (waiting for the SD Cable Card tuner). I have my main Win 7 Media center with a Hauppauge HVR-950Q Tuner and a Silicon Dust HDHR (2 tuners). I also use my personal system with a 950Q tuner for trying things out with Media Center or recording a 4th channel if needed. I started witht the ATI on my system.
The cable guy came out (FIOS was verizon just changed to Frontier) and put in an M Cable Card and we set it up in the ATI Web page. I then ran the TV signal setup in Media Center. It saw the 1 Digital Cable Card Tuner and 1 QAM Tuner as expected. When the setup finished it said it didn't find and channels (message I always get from the QAM tuners -- need to add the channels in the "edit channels". When I exited it had the full set of channels in the guide and they all worked.
So I moved the ATI to my Media Center system, went through the setup and got 1 Digital CC Tuner and 3 QAM tuners. I see all the channels. Then I went to see if it had picked up recording "Burn Notice" and saw that my recording were showing no tuners to record a second or third show at the same time. So I check the "sources" for the local channels (that the QAM tunners can do) and only source is now the ATI, other tuners are missing even though it had them in the TV signal setup! Tried to add channel but that only supports xx.xxx where the local are xx.xxxx (need another digit). Looked for the freq in edit channels and it's not there -- set for 502 ABC HD already for the ATI.
Put back on my personal system to debug, same issue. Then tried to use the ATI and it will stop working after a while saying can't locate a tuner or looking for tuner. Have to reboot to get the ATI back and working. Then notice reboot is taking forever and then blue screens during reboot (flashes quick so I didn't see what it was). Finally found that unpluging the 950Q QAM tuner gets the ATI working fine (up and running for 3 days now and recording fine).
Anyone seen this issue with DCT and QAM tuners? Any ideas on what to try to get them both working?
Thanks
Pat
