I have an HTPC setup for a while now with Xbox 360 extender. I have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 dual tuner and I'm using Dish Network Vip 211 HD and 311 SD STB's (currently have the HD channels skipping problem), use the Pinnacle Remote Kit for MCE as blaster. I saw that now Hauppauge has support for their HD PVR and decided to go for it.
1. Can I use my 2250 tuner for the SD STB and use the HD PVR for the HD STB?
2. Do you know if there could be any problem changing channels since the HD PVR has built in IR?
Any help you can give me is appreciated.
My current setup:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33ghz
RAM 4GB DDR2
Windows 7 64 bit
NVIDIA GeForce 250 GTS 1Ghz
WinTV-HVR-2250
Pinnacle Remote Kit

Yep. You can definately do this. You'll probably end up with 2 of every channel, unless you use webguide to combine them (you'll probably want to change tuner priorities too)

Sorry, I can't comment on this. I'm not using native Hauppauge support, since I have dual HDPVRs and I'm using USB channel changing besides.
Since I see that you have 2 HD PVR's I guess I will go for it!!!
Any sugestions or stuff I need to know to make the 2 HD's to work?

Well, for now, you can't get two HDPVRs going with the Hauppauge native setup. You'll need DVBlink for HDPVR, over at 1geek1tool.com. The native drivers are supposed to support 2 HDPVRs soon.
I bought the Hauppauge HD DVR today, installed and made the setup from the 1geektool1.com but it gives me "all tuners are currently in use" and that's it.
I still have installed the 2250 tuner also.
