WinTV HVR-2250, Win7 Media Center & Verizon FIOS?
I've used Media Center for about 3 years now successfully by simply plugging in our cable's coaxial cable directly into my various tuners. However, now that we upgraded to an HDTV 1080p, I'd like to see if I can get HDTV through my media center PC. We are moving from Charter cable to an area that offers Verizon FIOS. For those who know about or who are using this type of setup, please help me with: 1. We only get the standard + package (i.e. no HBO, etc.) - will I be able to record these channels since Verizon only broadcasts full digital? 2. Do I have to use a STB if I'm not ordering the Premium channels? 3. If so, how do I do this and will the computer be able to automatically change the channel as it records programs throughout the day/night? (i.e. if connected to a STB, will it be like a really old VCR in that I have to change the channel with the included IR Remote and then manually hit record?) 4. If I have to use a STB, will I get full 1080p - I read somewhere that S-Video limits it to 480p. Thanks.
