Quicktime: cannot completely uninstall & cannot view .mov media
I've been going back & forth between various codecs & the quicktime/real programs. Currently, I cannot play .mov files, not in windows media player, not in quicktime. Everytime I try to play it, it says it cannot render the file (& the file works fine, works on other computers & used to work on this one).
I've tried completely removing all codecs, I've tried uninstalling quicktime - won't uninstall, so I re-installed so I could uninstall, it says it uninstalls but it doesn't. I try to uninstall again, uninstaller just cuts out. I try to reinstall the quicktime alternative codecs, it installs media player classic, however, not the actual codecs because it detects quicktime still installed.
this is driving me crazy, any help would be appreciated. FYI, I use PowerDVD 7 Deluxe w/ Interactual something-er-rather (not interactual program, some interactual feature in powerdvd), so those codecs are in there as well & yes these codecs used to work with alternative just fine. What happened to cause this - no clue.
