Has anyone tried the new MCE Tunes plug-in (www.mcetunes.com) for integrating iTunes 6 or 7 with My Music in MCE 2005 ?
I'm such a coward when it comes to early adoption !
What exactly does this mean (from their site):
"MCE Tunes does not "decrypt" any iTunes music and is 100% legal. Your PC must be authorized to play all protected music before you can use MCE Tunes."
I did have a play with the trial version, i didnt need the full version as i coverted all my protected files and loaded them into WMP before i found this tool.
It does require to have itunes running in order to work.
It seems to work and copies all the references into WMP, but does not copy across the Album titles or the track sequence, which means you have to fiddle a bit in WMP before you can use album art fixer.
But now i have got all the music into Media Centre and they seem to play properly.
Having iTunes open in the background doesn't bother me, as I have it open already for downloading podcasts and ready to update my iPod. One big question though, does is group compilation albums when browsing by artists like iTunes does?
Big thumbs up from me as well.I don't use iTMS either. I do have an iPod though, that’s one of the reasons way i use iTunes I suppose. The best thing about this is that I don't even need to touch WMP. No need for watched music folders either. Simplifies everything. Defo recommend it.Now here is a question. My Music in MCE is still pretty much unusable for me, due to all my compilation albums. And I don't really want to rename all the tags for my compilation albums so that Artist = Various Artists and Title = Artist-TitleName. This would fix my problem, but it’s not ideal. So my question is; Is it even remotely possible that MCE Tunes could be programmed to use export Album Artist from iTunes as Artist in WMP, without effecting my mp3 tags? I was going to pop them an email, But I don't really know how these library's work, and if it’s even a solution. I would pay for this feature.Gary
