    Hello,

I am new to this and have just put together my first htpc.  It is using older components but ought to be viable for standard definition I figure.

So far, everything seems to work except that a few broadcast tv channels have their audio out of synch with the video.  The rest of the channels are right on but two of them are immediately out of synch the second you switch to them.  They are a little stuttery as well.  This is the only thing keeping me from cancelling my dish so I am wondering if there is a tweak or a hardware limitation that might be causing the problem.

Here is my setup.  Windows is a pretty new installation without may applications/games/other junk.  Lots of open hard drive.

ATI RADEONĀ® 9250 128 MB PCI Video Card S-Video Out
Hp Media Center M7160N Pentium D 1GB Ram
    AVerMedia AVerTVHD Duet Tuner
    MCE 2005
    Standard TV

Anything I shoud try right off?

     Thanks

So, combing through the posts here I decided to install ffdshow.  It fixed my problem channels but introduced a new one.  Now on one channel (fox), the video lags a little, then catches up, lags, then catches up.  This happens every two seconds or so and it looks like a scene change.  It sounds fine but looks jumpy.  Anyone know if this is a tweak to ffdshow or do I need to try another decoder?

     Thanks

    Carl
