    Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help. I have a rather old setup i know but it is quite stable! I watch tv on my 42" plasma via my mxp mce 2005 ru2. I have always used Cyberlink power dvd application for the codec. I recently did a restoration and now the cyberlink applications within the mce 'more programmes' options are still there but will not adjust the picture (eg: none, smart, vivid, theatre etc.) or aspect ratio.

     Can anyone help?

No suggestions to upgrade to Vista or 7 please!

     Thanks

Why do you use MCE 2005?

    What is RU2? Just curious.

It has been a really long time since I've used MCE2005 so going from memory.  If I remember correctly after you install PowerDVD you need to install a patch from Cyberlink to upgrade PowerDVD to work correctly with MCE2005.  I believe this was with PowerDVD 5, if you installed a newer version of PowerDVD it might not have the MCE2005 addins that version 5 had.

Again this is all from memory so I could be incorrect.

Also, there was an app that you could download from Microsoft that would tell you which MPEG codec was being used by MCE2005 and would let you change it.  It could be that Media Center is not using the PowerDVD MPEG codec.  Sorry I don't remember the exact name of this app.
