Ok, so this is only happening for the season posters or video thumbnails?
1. For season banners, try this: go into the corresponding *.season.xml file and verify that the url in the PosterImageSource tag pulls up a valid image via a web browser.
2. For a video thumbnail, go to the corresponding *.video.xml file and verify that the url in the ThumbnailImageSource tag pulls up a valid image via a web browser.
It's possible that the tvdb api is referencing corrupt images (compared to the tvdb website).
sccrgoalie1 I've got a quick question. Alias is one of the series in my library but the episode pictures tvlibrary is downloading are corrupt. The pictures on the website are okay.

Hey Jack,
The url pulls up a valid image.

Hi Jack,
No, I'm on Win 7 32-bit. And not that I mind using the 'Find Info' feature, but I do think the retry window is a bit long. On 6/30, when latest True Blood was added to my library, it said it would retry on 07/03. I think maybe a 24-hour retry time might be more useful? In any case, thanks for the attention you're giving this, it's very appreciated!
Crud...ok send me the *.season.xml file and the *.seriescache.xml file

Jessica,
The Find Info shouldn't have to be used to fix that issue. So basically, it would have eventually gotten the info but the delay is too long. I'll re-evalute the metadata retry stuff but I wonder if 24-hours may be too short. There could be a situation where metadata doesn't update until 2 days later. I run into this periodically for one of the shows I watch. I might still have an escalating scheme where the interval is X number of hours, then x+n number of hours, then Y number of days or something. Also factored into this is a maximum number of retries. I'll revisit and probably recode this over the weekend.

Thanks Jack -- in the short time I've been doing this, it does always seem that an episode's metadata is available within a day after it airs.
I reviewed the series/episode handling and here's what happens when no metadata is found the first time.
1. Initial Attempt - If content is wtv/dvr-ms then try again in 2 hours (in case file still being recorded.). If content is other file format then try again the next day.
2. Second and Subsequent Attempts - try again in 2 days
Step 2 continues until the maximum number of retries is made. After max attempts then mark the series/episode as metadata not available.
The plugin has a default of 5 attempts. I think I used this every 2 days scheme for the 2nd attempt and thereafter because of the possibilities of no updates in 5 days.
I'll reevaluate this whole scheme and maybe just go with once per-day --since if I can't remember it off the top of my head or it requires explaining then it's probably too complicated.
Update: Bah! I am just going to switch to retry daily up to the maximum.
LOL, that's awesome -- thanks Jack!
Question for users: does anyone use the podcast or youtube search features?
Jack in the win 7 that i used the tv library, yes. when a upgrade to win 8 media center?
My nerdish roommate discovered something -- if you change the name of a series backdrop jpg to the series banner jpg then you get full screen backdrops. Given this is the only feature she misses about the clunky MediaBrowser she wanted to know if you have plans to natively support backdrops. Otherwise, changing the name is a simple enough fix, IMO. Thanks!
Someone else on 'ere had the same notion. I tried it myself and I dunno. the font colours don't look so great against the backdrop. I'll give it another go and reevaluate --maybe a setting that the user can specify.
I use the podcast and youtube features.
