Shockme: I'm sorry, but my software has NOTHING to do with this 'TRSDK' program you are talking about. I wrote BounceParse from the ground up, and it only uses one executable - ODWS.exe.
It appears that something else is resident on your computer and is intefering with the installation of the program. I really can't help you at this point in time, since I've never heard of the beast. Ask around though - if anyone else has found a similar problem, I'll take a look at it.
It's odd that this program is popping up during the firewall test - are you sure you don't have some firewall software or other package that is interacting with your 'net connection?
Could you send a screenshot or include some text about what this window is saying? I know what the BounceParse window is showing, but this other one is a complete mystery to me.
Luc: No, I'm afraid the plugin doesn't support browsing files like this. It is designed specifically to connect to YouTube and YouTube only, at least at the moment. I'm actually of the opinion (maybe incorrect) that folders full of Flash Video files are still pretty uncommon - I don't see a whole lot of return on the time investment in making this feature work. Still, if you get a few people to jump on line and say that they really need something like this, I could take a quick look at knocking together a new product.
Sorry, it's just that I've never seen batches of FLV files before, or at least not from regular sources ;)
For those who backup YouTube videos or things like that though, could be handy.
This thread is pretty much the bug-reporting forum for YouTubeMCE, or the one on the Australian Media Center community.
The current bugs are fairly subtle really. In answer to the question that is CONSTANTLY asked...YouTubeMCE is known to not be compatible with Media Center Extenders such as the 360, which is mainly due to the simple fact that I don't have one. As I've mentioned before, if everyone who used this program donated a dollar through the site, I'd have a 360 (plus a swag of games) and the plugin would most likely work on it ;)
Other bugs include some minor issues with the search and rename text controls (normal letters work fine, but non-alphabetical characters like punctuation (, . ' " - etc) aren't great.
And there is a slight scaling problem that can occur with the movie on some widescreen televisions (although viewing the movie in Fullscreen will take care of the problem).
Apart from the couple of people who have install or Flash problems, that's all that's been reported so far.
Hi,
This is really a very nice idea. When I tried to use it unfortunately I couldn't view anything.
It installed fine except that I didn't receive a block/unblock popup from the Windows Firewall.
Then I tried to run it but it gave the error that loalhost:.... (port number) was not available.
Any idea why ?
Thanks,
ilker
Hmm...don't really know. Although admittedly I've been just a little bit woried that in the latest build the firewall test hasn't been working as well as it should be - it seems to be way too fast.
There are one or two options. The first is that your machine just a little bit too fast or too slow - try going into My Youtube TWICE Eg, go in, press Back, go in again.
If that doesn't work, you could try going to c:\program files\push-a-button\YouTubeMCE (assuming that your 'Program Files' directory is on C: drive) and running 'Start.HTML'. If you don't get any firewall notices and it STILL doesn't work, we are looking at something more serious.
We have had an incredible amount of downloads lately thanks to all of the interest brought on by it being mentioned in Chris Laniers blogs and many others who followed his lead.
I'm afraid we have had to discontinue any downloads from our site. I've picked up a mirror or two (with more coming) for the program. For a list of the mirrors (and the chance to donate to the project) you can visit http:\\www.push-a-button.com.au\products\mce\YouTubeMCE.php
I am getting SICK AND TIRED of all of the spam that 8 dimension are putting on all of the forums and comments list where YouTubeMCE is mentioned. I have previously owned their product, I liked it - but now that they are going to that extent, I'm never going to suggest it to ANYONE.
Thanks moderators for killing the post from this forum. That's one irritation less, and it's great to see mods that pay that much attention to spam on their forums! Thanks.
