Sorry guys - posted this in the other group about YouTubeMCE, since some people are still posting in there. The trouble is that YouTube changed their site format AGAIN. This is the post...
Did the problem just 'go away' for you? Or is it still happening? If it's still occuring, it looks like the internet update isn't working as well as it should.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Youtube renamed some of their styles, changed the 'P' to 'Page' in their 'Most Recent' lists etc. and re-wrote their search page. As such, YouTubeMCE broke.
I've updated, so the automatic update should bring down the latest changes. Next time you start YouTubeMCE it will probably still fail - however, wait a minute and press 'F5' or try to change your sort order - you should HOPEFULLY find that everything works again. *crosses fingers*
If this fails, the manually-inclined can download the update file (not the installer, just the update to the PHP file) from http://www.push-a-button.com.au/updates/youtubemce/youtube.ph_ - this file needs to be downloaded and renamed to YouTube.php (right chick, choose Save As and point it towards your YouTubeMCE directory - c:\program files\push-a-button\youtubemce\youtube.php)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just before I sent out the update, the main development machine crashed - now Windows won't finish startnig, so it looks like the registry has been destroyed.
This means that right now, I can not provide a new installer. However in the mean time, download the file below (save it, then open it and run the .REG file) - it will enable the Internet Update for YouTubeMCE.
And to make up for all of the annoyance this has caused, what do people think of me releasing GoogleVideoMCE when my machine is back online? It's almost ready - or WAS, before the crash...

Once I get back, I'll start trying to bring the machine back online. Sorry for the annoyance, guys.
Thank you, working perfectly now.
Now off to spend the rest of the evening on YouTube.
I haven't been able to seriously test the installer for this program, so I'm flying a little blind here, but this is beta 0.5.0 of Yougle, the community video browser for your Media Center.
She can be used to watch, browse and search for videos on Google Video and YouTube. And yes, you can search BOTH sites at once, and your list of favourites can contain videos from both sites.
For those who used the previous program, YouTubeMCE, I've also made the following improvements:
* Corrected the error message when no search results found - should stop people being mislead into thinking there are connection/firewall issues
* Included a message from the Push-A-Button website to help when site format changes break YouTube or Google Video compatibility.
* Internet Update has been enabled by default
* Video placement on widescreen televisions has been improved
If you are willing to help me with any installer problems you find, feel free to download it : http://www.push-a-button.com.au/products/mce/Yougle.php
Look, I know it's not a commercial product - but this thing IS costing me real $ in terms of additional hosting costs alone, even if we completely ignore the time it takes to whip this sort of thing up.
If you DO enjoy the program and get some use out of it, could you please consider donating? If it's going to continue to actually COST me money, I'm not going to be able to keep it up forever.
Have the same problem- and I have a question about Yougle search :
Searching for the same keywords on Youtube and then inside Yougle doesn't give me the same results. I only get very few hits on Yougle. If I've found a clip on Youtube already, is there a surefire way to 'refind' the same clip in Yougle ? I've tried different approaches, even pasting the entire name of the clip in the searchbox but it doesn't work.
This program is working great on my PC; however I have two ideas for feature enhancements:
First, it would be great if there were a way to stop/pause playback by remote. I understand since it's flash-based, the MCE remote wont work directly. Are there keyboard shortcuts to stop/pause/play the video? If so, could a button be added to the left that would send these commands?
Second, it would be nice is keyword searches could be added to favorites in addition to specific videos. For example, you might repeatedly want to search for a specific TV program by name.
