Here is another one hoping for Windows 7 compatibility soon.

This app is a MUST (for me, at least,) if VMC's UI is to be usable.

    Advent:
Version 0.4.3 of MC Menu Mender is available from here:
The changes for this version are:
    • Fixed problem where 3rd party apps would be left on the menus of extenders after deleting them from the menu on the main PC. If you already have this problem, move the item you need to remove back to where it is showing on the extender, save, then delete it again and save.
    • New entry points created by Menu Mender now appear in under "program library" in Media Center. Games created with Menu Mender will also appear under the "games" section under "program library" in Media Center.

Just because I HATE rapidshare. Here is a mediafire link too (I'm sure others out there hate rapidshare same as I do)

Araltd, thanks a bunch! I have never managed to download anything off RapidShare hence your post is a lifesaver for me. Just wondering, there is a dowloads section on this site with plenty of useful applications (like this one). Why isn't this shared over there?

Sorry for the (very) late reply - i've been very busy over the Christmas period. You're not doing anything wrong, and it's not a permissions problem with ehres.dll. If you send me a support package (about dialog -> create support package) i'll try to work out what's going on.

And to those asking about Windows 7 - yes, I do plan to support it eventually, but it may take some time due to real life concerns and other projects etc.

Also, I would like to keep track of the number of downloads of Menu Mender so I can get an idea of demand - so if you could use the following MediaFire link instead, that would be great:

I was clamoring for W7 support too, and I suppose it should be implemented at some point.

But, frankly, if one is serious about VMC and if it's a dedicated box, W7 is simply not ready for prime-time. While it is shaping up to be a more polished OS than Vista, there are definitely some driver conflicts, and many plugins don't work well, if at all.

The advantages are minimal, if one has TV Pack. So, I personally went back to Vista, and this time 32-bit, instead of 64-bit. It's nice to have a fully functioning HTPC again:-)

    Hi Advent,

    Absolutely love the cool app.

I am running it on my Vista Ultimate machine and viewing the result on my Linksys DMA 2200 extender on my Plasma in the main room. I have tweaked a few of the menu's and installed  afew plugins but it seems that my Linksys extender is not in sync with the main Pc.

Example - I have my Tv menu set to show tunerfreeMCE & I have a new strip for My Media Brodwser to view my DVD collection. This all appears fine on the main Pc but for some strange reason the Extender shows a duplicate link for Media Browser which replaces the tunerfree mce link in the TV strip. Therefore I have no tunerfree mce button and two Media Browser buttons !!

I have tried resetting the menus and re-installing media browser plugin however the Extender continues to show the duiplicate link ??

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards

    Tylor

I would also love to see Windows 7 compatibility.

Anyone know how to add a entry point to launch vista speech recognition.  I have been setting it up but it needs to be started up and shut down because it get confused when by the audio playing, just putting it to sleep does not work.  I have tried to add an entry point like normal but it will not launch.  It is strange since when I look at the menu item properties and find the executable I cannot even launch by command line.  Cannot figure this one out.

I have menu mender installed on my vista 32 bit htpc.  Every time I go into a program and then come back out to the main start menu of media center, or hit the green button in media center I get the following.

Confirm Removal:  Do you want to remove this program link from the start menu?

If I select yes or no, it doesn't matter.  Nothing is removed and I still get the same message.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

I see a lot of items in Menu Mender that I don't have access to in VMC? Such as the MSNBC, Today Show, Internet TV, etc. Also, most of my 3rd party apps like vmcNetflix and Media Browser don't show up as icons in Menu mender. I want just make a strip of my 3rd party apps and make it the default view for when I open VMC. Is that possible with this plugin?

If not is there a way to make Online Program Library the default button selected upon opening VMC?

Your third party apps should be showing up under the 'entry point' panel. If not you can manually add them by creating new entry points. You can pick which entry point is the default (the one that is selected when you launch VMC) by left clicking it in Menu mender. You will see that it becomes highlighted when you do this. Save your changes and that menu option will become the default.

I'm also requesting W7 support.   Love the program so far --- I'm just in a bind, I'm trying to use Open Media Library with W7, but a bug in their app that prevents the icons from showing in the GUI can be fixed with this great app, but only on VMC!   Arrgggh :-)   Just so close....

Anyways, thanks for all the hard work to date.

I must be missing something. I still don't understand how to add a 3rd party entry point. I just want to create a custom strip with Netflix, Media Browser, and SecondRun. I don't see an appropriate .exe anywhere in my Program Files to add any of these. Is that how you're supposed to do it? How do I use the drag and drop feature and where do I drag and drop them from?
