The app looks great, but I am having an issue with the install. I am running Vista Ultimate 32-bit and after downloading and going through the install process, nothing else is happening.
After installation of the package, I checked within the Program Library Options under "Edit Program Library" and "Heatwave" is listed and checked as well as under "Edit Start Menu" and "Weather" is listed and checked. However, it doesn't show up in the menu when starting Media Center. Looking at your screen shots I see that you an option in the product to display it in the Start Menu, however, I can't seem to find a way into the Heatwave application either through Media Center or outside of it.
Any suggestions and help are appreciated!
Thanks!
Brad
I am having same issue with Vista (32) Ulitmate.
UPDATE: Sorted. Didn't see if under sports!
Kittyburgers:Adding them on my actual computer seemed to work, then when I used my extender, the added cities weren't listed.

dannybuoy:VMC Ultimate x86, cannot get it to show up in the start menu either. I did have 2 other apps registered that create their own strips (MyTV and Yougle). Tried disabling Yougle in MC Menu Mender and no joy. The Weather strip show up in MC Menu Mender but with no items in it.Maybe it works ok on a clean install but not for those of us that have fiddle around and added various strips already (i.e. most of us!)?I'm in London and have all my regional settings set to UK in case that's a cause of the problem...
Installed and works fine for me on my VMC Ultimate x86. I have several plugins installed, as well as more menu strips then default (MyMovies, MyTV). I had to go to program library at first to use it, and it appeared there as a large "sun" icon. I enabled the ability to display it on the start menu, and it worked just fine as well.
Are you sure you're not seeing it in the Program Library?

Ahh, got it working now as I wasn't looking in the Program Library. I see now that you MUST go to the Program Library and enable it there regardless of what it is done in the Settings -> General -> Program Library Options.
ACraigL:Have we confirmed this works with extenders on x64?
I installed this on my 64-bit HTPC this evening and can confirm it works on the XBox Extender - although I haven't tried it on my Linksys yet.
It seems to run well - however I did notice a second or two lag when returning from Heatwave back to Media Center's Start Menu.
Another couple of questions for James:
1) Heatwave appears under Program Library, Sports and Whether (only the latter when the appear on Start Menu property is set). Is there a way to remove it from the Sports menu?
2) Could we have imperial and metric settings for temporature and speed as seperate properties? For example in the UK we tend now to use Celsius for temporature but MPH for speed (I think I'm safe to say my generation - I'm 36 - doesn't understand Farenheit and we don't use KPH). Alternatively are there any internationalisation settings in the system that Heatwave could use?
PS. I love the interface - I remember the original Heatwave - the controls are fantastic, especially the onscreen keyboard - I wish Microsoft would use this for their text entry fields in Media Center ;-)
