I've finally had the time to have a look at this issue, and unfortunately the fix is far from straight forward.
With Windows 7 RTM, a (completely undocumented) change in the way the Media Center API Application.Idle event is fired PageSession.LoadPage method must be called has been made, and the resulting change in behavior is what is causing the problem.
Since this event is used extensively throughout the code for UI sequencing it's not going to be a quick fix.
I need to solve the problem for a client as well, and when I have done so I'll get on to updating HeatWave as well. While I can't give a specific date, it'll be after the client's issue is sorted out, and I've promised them that it would be addressed before October 22nd.

Could you possibly release the source code as well in the future?
Version 1.2 is now available for download.
The 32-bit version is here. The 64-bit version is here.
The only changes are to get it working in Windows 7 RTM, and the ability to toggle day/night mode with the OK button on the remote, or the ENTER key on the keyboard.
There are a couple of issues with the installer:1) It doesn't add the start menu strip in Windows 7 - You'll need to go to settings in HeatWave, ensure Show on Start Menu in Appearance is checked, and the choose Save. The strip won't appear until you restart Media Center.2) It mentions the Sports+News strip which I don't think exists in Windows 7.
Please let me know if you have any issues with this version.
I do intend on more substantially updating the app now that I have some time to do so, and will keep you all posted.
StumpyBloke Now, can you make it widescreen TV aware too please?
It's on the list of things to do. I'm still not sure of the advantage of this, but enough people have requested it that I'll make it an option.
mhealy Could you possibly release the source code as well in the future?
It's quite possible that I will some time in the future. For now .NET Reflector will have to do for those who want to satisfy their curiosity. Anyone who does will quickly realize it needs a lot of cleaning up before it'd be fit for publication.
You are the man!! Thanks for the update... I have really missed not having this app on W7!!
Any way to get extended forcast icons on the main MC screen, like Vista Extended 4Cast does?
zaxxxxNot work for me. Just freeze after launch.
Hi zaxxxx,
Thanks for giving it a try.
In order to try and better understand what might be happenning for you, can I ask the following:
1) Do any error messages appear for you? e.g. Invalid Application or Program Not Responding2) Does the "spinning ring" or "wait cursor" appear before it freezes?3) Is the background animated while it is frozen?
Cheers,
same problem here, just spinning ring and background is animated.
