liykh001, nice idea, BUT...
I'm sure I'm not the only HTPC user that has a VMC/Blu-Ray system running multi-monitors in a configuration that allows "PC screens" for surfing, games etc, and separate DVI/HDMI screens in other rooms going off to projectors or massive tellies.
Here's the big problem... with VMC on Screen 3 in my lounge, when I launch PowerDVD through VMC to watch a Blu-Ray, poxy PowerDVD8 Ultra always launches on Screen 1. Yes, I can use your (or other) VMC launcher for PowerDVD, and yes, I can get it to auto-full screen... but I cannot get anything to allow PowerDVD to launch on screen 3.
So there's me, in the lounge in front of the big screen... i'm watching TV, or Recorded TV, and then I fancy watching a BluRay, so I launch one using your app... put down my beer and peanuts, get up, trot into the study, switch on my PC Monitor, drag PowerDVD from Screen 1 to Screen 3, switch off the PC Monitor, trot back into the lounge, pick up my beer and peanuts and watch the movie.
I contacted Cyberlink about this, and they gave me the brush-off saying they don't support MultiMonitors... Doh !
... and no.. I can't change the system around so that Screen 1 is in the Lounge becaue of resolution problems (I can only watch project WXGA in the lounge).
How annoying..... unless you have a suggestion.. ???
cheers..
You say "Close PowerDVD, see MCE returns"
How do yo close PowerDVD - with the remote or the mouse? If the mouse, there is another launcher that when you hit the back arrow, it closes PowerDVD and goes back into MC.
liykh001: Hi All, I just created my first MCE app and installer. I was looking for something that would launch PowerDVD from MCE. Yes there are a few app's that do this already .... except I think mine is better ;P + it is UAC Windows Vista/7/x86/x64 compatible :) Steps: 1) Extract MceCyberlinkPowerDvdVersion1.zip to Program Files 2) Run Installer.exe - adjust settings if you want or just click Install 3) Launch MCE - Go To Progam Library and click Blue Ray icon 4) Notice PowerDVD launches full screen and MCE closes. 5) Close PowerDVD, see MCE returns back. 6) Uninstall - Run Installer.exe and click Select File and Unistall 7) Select the appInstall.xml file in the MceCyberlinkPowerDvd directory and it will be removed from MCE. 8) Delete the MceCyberlinkPowerDvd folder. Cyberlink 8 MCE Skin.zip Extract this dll to your cyberlink power dvd 8 skins folder. launch powerdvd and select the skin. This will give PowerDVD a nice blue MCE compatible look - instead of RED! Want to tweak / you get error about not finding the handle when launching PowerDVD? Try adjusting the RunApp.ini CloseMCEDelay property If the delay is too short - PowerDVD will not Maximize, so adjust higher. This work was based from a lot of sources and reading... so thanks to the web and people. If you find my app useful, a simple thanks is all I ask :) Note: Main bug I addressed that other launchers did not in Windows 7 was PowerDVD not properly maximizing. ie, taskbar still showed. The delay part is what fixes that problem. Files can be found here. http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/community/plugins-addons-windows-7/34823-cyberlink-powerdvd-8-7-launcher-mce-vista-win7.html
Hi All,

Cyberlink 8 MCE Skin.zip
Extract this dll to your cyberlink power dvd 8 skins folder. launch powerdvd and select the skin. This will give PowerDVD a nice blue MCE compatible look - instead of RED!
Want to tweak / you get error about not finding the handle when launching PowerDVD?

*Go to top of Thread for Download*
*New Version 1.2*- Added MSI Installer/Uninstaller- Mouse Hide- AutoRun- More Config Options- Configuration Tool- Improved Code and Handling
I move the window in code jaust after it has launched - then call maximize :)
Use the config tool to set which monitor you want powerdvd to play on.There are two settings, one for PowerDVD and the other MCE.
Let me know how you go.
Note: Timing is different on every machine, so if you have problems try adjusting the timings higher.... such as the Maximize delay.
Nice - was looking for the additional options e.g. launch on a specific monitor etc. Will have a go ASAP.
