OK well I think this app doesn't do what you want. It copies information from the library of iTunes to the library of WMP or vice versa. It doesn't play iTunes throught the wmp interface. I too would like something that let iTunes play in the My Music interface but as far as I know there is now way to do it.

 

 

Your files have to show up (with no tags) in WMP for MB to do anything. But I don't think it really does what you want it to, because I know no way of making WMP play the apple lossless format.

You are correct. MusicBridge manages tags/playlists/ratings. It is not a media player.The only way to play m4a files through MCE is using HPTunes. HP don't sell it and to be honest it is terrible. You might be able to find it somewhere on the interweb. Even if you did I don't know whether it supports Apple Lossless and it keeps an entirely seperate library from MCE My Music.

Hope someone can help. Music Bridge looks like just what I need but I can't seem to get it to work. I had been using WMP to manage my music collection (all ripped from CD as WMA files). There are around 9000 files in E:\My Music, with rating information and I have quite a few play lists set up.

Yesterday I purchased an Ipod and set about converting my "My Music" WMAs to MP3s. Itunes created the MP3 files in F:\Itunes. Of course, the ratings and playlists did not transfer.

I want to be able to export the rating and playlist info from WMP to Itunes so after searching the Net I came upon Musicbridge. After downloading and running the program (Sync from WMP, ALL DATA) it doesn't seem to have any effect on my iTunes collection. No ratings or playlists are imported. If I try to sync the playlists, the program quits and tells me that the playlists do not match or that I clicked the Stop button.

I guess what I am asking is this: can Music Bridge import data from WMP to Itunes if the files are two different collections? If not, does anyone know of an app out there that will do such a crazy thing?

You can download 3ivX's M4A DirectShow decoder to play mpeg4 audio files in both WMP and MCE. They've had this out for a long time.

Problem for me is, I can never get any of the data (album art, track names, titles etc...) to sync. I have sort of given up (for now) in hopes of this working...

Travis - How are you trying to do it?

You need to have a copy of iTunes and WMP both pointing the the same set of music files. Music Bridge will then transfer the data held in iTunes to WMP/MCE.

ryan-b - it will only work if it's pointing to the same files. You have WMP pointing to the .wmas and iTunes to the .mp3s - no good.

You're not alone... I've scoured TGB and this thread, and cant seem to find the link to download what sounds like the cure for the problem I'm having.

I can't find the link i have been reading this readme ten times, then i registered mayby the link was only for registered users but no still no joy.

I'm only looking for a way to get my ratings out of itunes i'm running it on a win Xp pc.

Well the new forum seems to have dropped the attachment and it doesn't seem to let me attach anything. Hopefully they will fix it soon.
