Update
The application has been updated to detect "direct" playback. The usually error message will briefly be shown as the image is mounted in the background.

I've seen a few posts the last copy of days about mounting image files (i.e. ISOs). Most people recommend either 3rd party video libraries (Media Browser, OML, MyMovies, ...) and generally those are the easiest. But I thought I'd share another option that I use as a backup. The below plugin will do two things:
Note: Please uninstall any previous version prior to install
Enable view ISO, IMG, CCD and BIN files in both native libraries
Registry itself under "More" for videos in Movie Library and Video Library. To get to More either hit Info or Right Click while you have the file selected and select "Mount Image".
VirtualCloneDriveis no longer required. It will detect VirtualCloneDrive, Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools Lite and if available use them directly. If none are available then it will use the default shell handler for the file extension. You just need to make sure it is a virtual disc software
I am working an a mechanism to override the default play for disc image files but I haven't tested thoroughly enough yet
I only tested on W7 RTM
Fantastic! This is just what the native Movie Library was lacking.
However it does not seem to be working for me
Windows 7 RTM 32bit using Virtual Clone Drive Beta 5.4.3.5 and PowerDVD 9 Build 2010.
I navigate to one of my movies which I know is a Blu-ray rip (ISO) go to More and I then click on MountImage but it just says invalid application.
I then clicked on MountImage again and this time it did say mounted.
However looking in Computer in Explorer the V: drive was not mounted (I changed the Virtual Clone Drive to be V:\ drive in Disk Management).
If I just double click an ISO from Explorer they do mount fine. I am also able to play Blu-ray movies via Media Browser and My Movies and they mount and PowerDVD9 is launched within Media Center OK.
Now MountImage is just saying invalid applicaiton all the time

I uninstalled Mount Image. I then downloaded and installed it again. However it's just the same as before, getting invalid application all the time and nothing gets mounted, perhaps someone else should try this and let us know if it works for them?
Cheers.
Love the look of this. I will give it a try when the downloads etc are back up.
Cheers, Rich

Oddly enough it is a 64 vs 32 issue. I wrote and tested on x64 only. I reformatted an older system w/ 32-bit to test. I'll publish a fix soon.
I'm also running 32bit so I will wait for the update

Updated: http://www.mikinho.com/wmc/mountimage/MountImageSetup.msi. On 32-bit an additional command line switch is needed for VCDMount to work.
Btw, I noticed on one of my systems that the AutoPlay handler for Blu-ray isn't working eventhough it has PowerDVD installed. I may add some options to play the disc into the app
This works a treat on my W7 RTM (32bit) with TMT Platinum 3 - thanks a lot.
One question though, when clicking more on the required disc and you are then presented with a new screen (mounting screen I will call it) it shows the title at the top, then underneath an empty square with Mount... etc etc. Is this how it should be?
Thanks again,
No worries whatsoever! Its a cracking app. and am more than happy with it as it is!! Thanks.
No it didn't resolve it after installing your update. I am still seeing Invalid Application all the time but I am also seeing that with My Movies, I think if others have it working on 32 bit you should be good to go!
I think my Win7 RTM install is FUBAR. Having lots of other issues as you have probably seen on the threads.
On win7 RTM, I am getting "Unable to mount VCD" error on otherwise working ISO files. Manualy mounting them works tho. I dont know if this is a plugin error or virtualclonedrive error.
