The idea of this thread is to list current third party applications and plug-ins for Media Center. I have a list of most of the current ones mostly from this forum right here.

If there is a new application or plug-in being developed please start a third in this forum, and then post a link with the name of the product or project in this thread. In addition if there is a new version of the application or plug-in post the thread here so this post can be updated to match the most current information. Thanks!

It's nice to see the MCE dev community pumping out great products. Great work and keep it up. Anyone know of an MCE2005 answering machine plugin?

The main reason is I can't update/edit the Downloads Center, only the Admins can. So, it's much easier for me to find time in between my classes to edit/update this thread, then it is to e-mails the Admins and wait for them to get some free time to add them. It can definitely be looked into however.

@chris: thanks for the explanation. i don't exactly know the rights of all users, admins, moderators and who might edit something and who might not.

but the idea of this list is very good! keep up the good work for the community.

i hpe to expand the list in the future by adding some more plugins

I downloaded and installed the mcecustomizer, but it didnt work(tried to change my background) and worse of all I think it installed something nefarious. I came back to my computer a few minutes after trying it out and noticed all these windows independently opened. You know sorta like your web browser regenerating itself 100 zillions times, except whatever it is in the program caused Outlook, Firefox, control panel to open by themselves. Also my AIM text box only read error and my desktop image was changed by this bad actor. I ran norton anti virus but nothing was detected. Anyone else use Mcecustomerizer and get it to work and get it to work without the malware experience I had?

i never experienced any problems like that with mceCustomizer. but if it would open all these windows, what should it do with them? if all that was done by a software, it could only be a "joke-ware".

mceCustomizer would have no chance at all, if it would do all these things.

it was also tested and reviewed by a large german pc magazine. and i think they would have found it, if there was something wrong with it...

So, were you able to change your MCE background with the program? I open the customerizer and choose a picture, something happens a command prompt appears and then it says it was sucessful. I then notice in the program where I chose what picture I wanted as my background in MCE that nothing is in the picture box. I went to themexp.org and right clicked/saved two of the images. Is it a resizing issue or something completely different?

@cigga24: the caller-id-plugin is not released yet. i hope to get a beta out this year. mceContacts is not required for the plugin, but can be used as datasource (as well as outlook or any other database). the picture comes from the datasource (from database or outlook).

Are you trying to just keep a list of those that are freeware and shareware or all Plug-Ins.

If the latter; then you should add:
