Hi everyone,

Second verse same as the first. Hope this is useful to someone other than myself. Boxee Launcher is a simple Windows Media Center add-in that attempts to launch Boxee and manage the windows as seamlessly as possible. The installer and source code are available at http://boxeelauncher.codeplex.com/. This is the sibling of the Hulu Launcher I posted here: http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/t/87094.aspx

P.S. - Right now if you use the Green Button to get back to Media Center, the desktop shows for longer than I'd like. I'll be working on improving that.

Release Notes

BoxeeLauncher Release 1.0.1.0 is the initial, barely-tested release of this Windows Media Center add-in.
It should work in Vista Media Center and 7 Media Center, although Vista is untested.

BoxeeLauncher requires that Boxee be properly installed.
BoxeeLauncher will create an item in the extras library in 7MC, or under TV in VMC. Clicking on Boxee Launcher will launch Boxee.

Features:
  • Will attempt to hide the mouse as much as possible, and show the desktop for the least amount of time possible.
  • If you exit Boxee through the menu or another means, Media Center will be brought to the foreground, maximized, and the mouse will be hidden.
  • If Media Center becomes the foreground window while Boxee is running, Boxee will be automatically closed.

Known Issues:
  • In Windows 7, on DPI higher than 125%, the taskbar will remain visible while switching between applications. I have no idea why, and will probably not look into this issue.

Notes:
  • Any exceptions will be logged (poorly) to %LOCALAPPDATA%\BoxeeLauncher\logfile.txt
  • I tried to make it not matter what you have "Always on Top" set to in MC, but it warrants additional testing to confirm.

Download the installer at http://boxeelauncher.codeplex.com/releases/view/43013, and let me know if you have any feedback or anything.
