I seem to be having a problem when i come to view some downloaded avi videos through my media centre.

Some of the colours seem to blend together in a kind of solarize way if that makes any sense. But they play fine just through media player on its own. I tried capturing a screenshot to show you guys but it just cam out black!

Im running the media centre on vista ultimate if that helps!

Anyone have any ideas they would be greatly appreciated!!!

(ps if anyone knows how i can get a screen shot that would be good)

Not sure about fixing your problem, but try getting a screenshot with Media Center windowed instead of full screen.

I'm having pretty much the same issue.

Video playback fine in Media Player, but whites get turned black in Media Centre.

The files are AVI which I think are encoded with Xvid.

Yes i think it is something to do with the xvid codec as i have some other avi's which play fine, ill post up a pic of the xvid problem tomorrow

Do a screen shot in widow mode not full screen , Vista will not let you do a full screen video shot

Just looking back through my posts and realise I found a fix to this one.

It's annoyingly simplee....

In the Xvid panel just turn the brightness down a touch and all is fixed :)

you obviously havent discovered the snipping tool Richard ;)  Its in accessories(where calculator etc are)

LOL..  x64 not 100% sure, looks like you have 64bit Vista give it a try, let me know if it works.
