I've been waiting all weekend for the Internet TV App, but it just does not come.  I've checked and re-checked the settings under:

Tasks > Settings > General > Automatic Download Options

...and "Retreive Album Art..." and "Download when connected" are checked/enabled.

I've tried to "Get Latest Guide" a few dozen times, rebooted, etc. but...nothing.

Is there a way to manually get it?  Anything I can check?  Maybe it's not pushed to my area's guide?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

    /b.

(I have Vista Ultimate, by the way, and have never had a problem retrieving the program guide).

Hmmm... Do you have the United States locale configured in Control Panel?

Control Panel > Clock, Language, and Region > Regional and Language Options > Formats

If current format is not "English (United States)" then make it so, and try the download again.

If you were already set to "English (United States)", or if you still don't have Internet TV:

    • Do you have "Sports" on the Media Center Start menu?
    • Does this directory exist? C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\Packages\NetTV
    • If so, does it contain a Browse subdirectory and a Browse.cab file?
    • Run the following command at a command prompt. Is the output value 0x0 or 0x1?

    reg query "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Settings\MCE.GlobalSettings" -v workOffline

I had the same problem as you did.

What I did was get all the available vista updates, restart my computer, take out my tv tuner card, and then go download the guide updates. After I got it working, I plugged my tuner card back in.

    I hope that helps you.

Thanks you guys...crazy that you had to pull out your tuner to get it.  I hope it doesn't have to come to that.

    1. My locale is set to English (United States).
    2. I do have the Sports ribbon in the main menu.
    3. C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\Packages\NetTV does NOT exist.
    4. The command produced 0x0.

    Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem & I have 4 tuners and there is no way I'm pulling them out & then have to re-set them up.

I'm US everywhere & do have the sports ribbon.  I tried the Download now, I tried Get Latest Guide listings & have rebooted.  I also have Vista Ultimate on my office PC & it downloaded fine, actually it showed up on its own, didn't have to do anything.

    Any other suggestions?

I don't have four tuners (just two), but I'm with you ericr34.

Last night I was playing around with the Sports directories in the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\Packages directory and found that removing some of the files caused the Sports ribbon to disappear; replacing them made it come back.

I wonder if simply having a "NetTV" directory with the correct files inside it would resolve this?  Could someone zip/rar up these files and attach them here?

I actually saw it show up on my machine, but rolled back my computer a day, and now its gone, and hasn't shown up again... How do I get it to show up??
  •
This is my first post so I hope I am doing this OK. I got the Internet TV to show up without changing or doing anything, however, when I clicked on it yesterday, the MCE system crashed. But today, it works so updates must be coming through OK. I have a vista system.

I am in the the same boat, I do have sports and it shows fine but not internet TV option.  I have do have any tuners installed either.  Anyone have any ideas?  Home Premium here.

    Thanks

Would someone with a working "Internet TV" please zip/rar up the "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\Packages\NetTV" directory and post the files here?  I'd like to see if this resolves our problem.

    Unless someone has another suggestion...
  •
I agree, if MS isn't going to provide a manual install of this, please someone zip up their directory and post it so we can at least try to get it back...
  •

no one that has internet tv can help a few people out who didn't get the update?

can anyone zip the directory and post it or email it to us so we can try to see if that will resolve it not showing up?

I realized that in my own post I said I had my office machine working & not my main Media Center.  I copied the files & it worked.

I'd rather not have to email this to everyone, does somebody have some place convenient to host it, if not I can set something up later tonight.

  •
Maybe you could mail it to a forum admin and they could post it here?  Or they could put it in the downloads section?

Glad to hear it works.  Obviously Microsoft have a problem with this distribution method.  They should have just made it an update...

Depending on how big it is, I can host it if you can email it to me.

I can't provide access to others however.

    my email is maxmcleod@comcast.net
