Strange Remote Problem

I'm using VMC. I bought the "Win Vista Premium Ultimate MCE Remote Control By Mediagate". I have a MX-500 universal remote.

I programmed all the MX-500 buttons by learning them from the VMC remote.

All the buttons/commands sent from the MX-500 work, but only once. If hit the same button again, the remote sends a signal, the IR receiver lights up, but nothing happens. For example, if I'm trying to navigate though VMC using the arrow buttons, each direction I choose will work only once. If I hit a different button, the original button resets itself and I can use it again.

Does anyone have any insight into my problem? I have tried having the MX-500 learn from different MC remotes and a Harmony remote, tried multiple MX-500 remotes (I have two), and tried different IR receivers. Nothing works.

    Thank you.

Problem solved. I'll list the solution so any other VMC noob that has a learning universal remote can hopefully find the answer a little quicker.

Media Center evidently has a feature called "debounce" that prevents remotes from sending the same signal multiple times with each button push. So, all MC remotes send a different signal the second time the same button is pushed. This is no bueno for learning remotes that store only one IR signal.

You can disable this feature in the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da

Set the EnableDebounce DWORD to 0 and reboot.
