It sounds like a permission problem. That bit of the code hasn't changedSome questions.Does the config program work? Does the config program display a preview? If it does has it created a tmpweather.png file in the 2dayweather folder?Delete the weather.png file and then run 2dayweather again, does it work?
Yip, you are right, I messed up the permissions of the folder - thats all good now thanks.
I have another issue where the new icon is not being shown in Media Center. It still shows the old one. Even if I delete weather.png, the old icon still shows up. So is it being cached somewhere or have I messed up again? SORTED - the old version was stored in a virtualstore directory. In my case C:\Users\Richard\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\2dayWeather\weather.png
Another thing I was wondering is... can the box that comes up when 2dayweather.exe is running be invisible or minimised or something. When running powerdvd or the like it comes up in front of it.
Thanks again.

I just installed this application and agree with everyone that it is an excellent addition.
The issue mentioned above is by Rich is the only real issue I'm seeing.
I've tried several different things like executing "2dayweather.exe > nul" in the task scheduler and nothing I've tried works.
Is it something specific to do with the actual executable that brings up a window?
What can we do to keep it truly as a background task?
After far too many failed experiments trying to get rid of the pop-up window I finally tried creating a scheduled task that runs as the user "system". It worked!!
On top of getting rid of the annoying pop-up window, it also keeps the png image updated for any user who uses Vista Media Center (if you use a specific user name I found it only runs when that user is logged in, even if I tell it to run when not logged in).

Vengence_Irl:I agree with dravor. just had an opportunity to try this, really slick. A suggestion, would it be possible to change the high/low font colours independently (so pedantically I could have the highs a red/orange and the lows a light blue)?
