Same problems here... I tried all the tricks described here, but nothing helped (Vista Ultimate 32bit).
The 'TODO: " error also shows the software writing incompentence of Philips: It's just a placeholder for a routine that was never created in the program. Its plain hard proof that the program was published before being finished.
I'm not used to this from Philips. They really should get their software fixed!
Vegk:I've now got mine working perfectly after reinstalling windows, no TODO errors and no slow startup problems, even the music function works with no problems.
I don't want to be negative, but don't get your hopes up just yet!I also have a clean installed Windows Vista Ultimate computer. There is hardly any other software present. The remote worked just fine for 2 weeks or so. Then all of this sudden it began to make problems, for no reason what so ever (besides Windows Update maybe?).
At the moment I have learned the remote to work with the IR signals of a regular MCE remote control. I haven't got the regular remote function to work at all lately, so I'm using IR signals exclusively. Ofcourse, sideshow is not working, which was one of the reasons I actually purchased this remote.
I still have hopes that the software will be updated by Philips with a more mature version so I can use the remote to it's full extent.

It s difficult not to be negative when it comes to this remote, mines been stable for about a week now. I had previously done about 3 re installs of windows trying to work out what was causing the problem and this thing just would not work, as soon as i put the pc to sleep it either didnt connect or crashed my pc when it woke up. Perhapes I am being over optimistic that my problems were related to the tuner. I must say that when it works it works great. I now have a clean Ghost image of my PC made before installing the remote, so if it goes wrong again i will restore from that and reinstall the remote. Takes about 8mins rather than the several hours it takes to reinstall windows.
I agree lets hope philips upadate this software soon, but for the moment i am happy i finally have this thing working as it should, although it has taken 2 moths and many wasted hours. I dont think I will be buying anything from philips again.

I'm afraid I have to second that...
worm:These issues have never been addressed. At this point in time I could not recommend this to anyone. The software is buggy, it often loses connection with the remote itself, blue screens as a result of driver lock-up etc. Hope Philips get there act together and fix this. I have had this for over a year and have tried all manner of things to resolve the issues. To sell something like this with so many issues begs belief; made worse by the fact that Philips do not seem to be providing any help.
cw-kid:HiThere's been some new discussions about this remote on the digital lifestyle hereReading this thread the software sounds well buggy and the remote unreliable as a result. For those of you still using this remote did Philips ever resolve these problems with the software ? Would you recommend buying this remote to anyone else ? Thanks.
Dont buy it for the sideshow/music feature until they release a new version of the driver. It works great as a universal remote(i also have mine controlling the pc via infra red).
When the wireless/sideshow features work they are good but just too unreliable, mine seems to work ok for a week or two at a time before i have to restore vista from a ghost image.
Philips told me a month or so ago that they are working on new software, so fingers crossed.
Hi guys, I just got this remote off Ebay and couldnt get it working with the PC, (vista 64) .
However after doing a soft reset of the remote, enabling some services and reinstalling the update software it seems to be working perfectly, i can browse and play media from the screen, use sideshow apps and control VMC.
Not sure if it helps, I enabled the media center extender service, windows media player network sharing service and I think a couple of networking services, cant remember what though.
If some one can tell me how to post a list of my running services I will.
I guess you could set any disabled sevices to automatic just to test it, incidentally I have had the UAC thing permanantly disabled for the past year with no problems.
If theres anything you want to know about my setup that might help please ask.
Cheers guys -Robb
