I don't feel it would be appropriate to post that kind of information. This application is value-add for Niveus. Seeing as how they charge more for their MCE products than most would pay for a car, I think they need to keep all the value-add justifications they can muster. Besides, based on playing with this they could take a few lessons in usability. That said, TGB staff would have to make that call.

Well pm then would work  or post and let TGB make  that call, as this is still a beta I would think they would value all the feedback they can get.  I actually am a dealer for niveus media centers as well as others, but I can't afford one at home to play with.

So far, I'd say your not missing much.  Can't get remote content on another machine to show.  Odd.

Tough one guys.  Companies generally don't like this sort of information spread around the web, and I really don't want to fight anyone about having it posted here.

I would say that if people "in the know" want to post the information elsewhere (outside of TGB), then there isn't much I can do about it.  I can pretty much assure Niveus will take down the download and/or change the method of the installer in the future.

Full disclosure: Yes, I have it running on a non-Niveus PC and I fact I had been trying different things to get it working since 10am when it was first released.

well thats good to know I may call them tom. and see if they will give me a copy to play around with anyways.  The remote share is not promising, but I am sure there is work to be done still.  Some of the features may yet to be functional and coincide with the next VMC release, because believe me if anyone has the next version or knows what in it, it would be niveus.

I wonder if the full version of Niveus Media Center Companion 3.0 can be hacked to run on none Niveus machines also.

Yes...

I would rather be able to pay them for their work, but as they don't sell it and only offer it as an add-in for their very nice, but overpriced hardware. I will continue to use other less polished visually but just as functional software.

I use Sam's video browser with the salimi movie info puller... and for what I need to do it just works.

To the few that have it running, does it work on extenders with full functionality?

Just barely-day job. Life sucks.

Got this baby installed no problem, but got a message when I try to run it from the media center saying that it can only run on a Niveus machine.

i can only guess the helpful post above was deleted?

Me too KingManon.  I followoed what dbldown768 had said, but once i select it in media center, it spits out that error.  Any thoughts dbldown768?
