Pinnacle has released their updated software and drivers for the PCTV HD card (800i), including the long awaited Clear QAM drivers (out of beta). download page

That said, I tried the drivers, and it did nothing for VMC. In fact, it messed up my drivers so much that a restore didn't even fix it. What happened was it basically took away the ability to view digital OTA in VMC and brought in analog OTA. I had to completely reinstall Vista just to bring back functionality to VMC. This is of course just me, but I would highly advise others, who have the card working in VMC, to not try these drivers and wait for another release.

Anybody else try the drivers yet?

Or if you do decide to try it, make sure you backup first. System Restore is not the most reliable source of a backup.

Has anyone else tried this yet?

This is what I have so far.

Vista Media Center - Vista Home Premium 64-bit:
ATSC anntenna Digital = working fine
NTSC Anntenna Analog = Does not work
NTSC Cable Analog = Does not work

    Pinnacle Software:
ATSC anntenna Digital = working fine
NTSC Anntenna Analog = working fine
NTSC Cable Analog = working fine
QAM Cable Digital = working fine

    VLC:
NTSC Cable Analog = Picture Only no Sound
NTSC Anntenna Analog = Picture Only no Sound

    Media Player Classic Homecinema:
NTSC Cable Analog = Sound Only no Picture
NTSC Anntenna Analog = Sound Only no Picture

I don't understand why WMC is not able to lock in NTSC. Does any one have any idea?

    Error I get in VMC:
    Loss of Signal
Windows Media center has stopped capturing data due to low data rate in the TV signal. This might be temporary situation. If the this persists, make sure the cable for the TV signal is connected properly, restart the computer, and then try tuning to a channel.

    ***Edited to add the error

I've been wainting for a REAL QAM support plug-in for Vista Media Center for a long time.

I read some reviews about Hauppauge's Vista QAM plug-in.  Without good performance too...

It seems only AVerMedia's Vista QAM plug-in got good reviews...
