Fresh install following Pack instructions.
Working - mostly. VMC seems a bit more sluggish than before. My main issue is that scheduled recordings often bring up a message saying theres no TV signal, but the recording does start for about a minute then stops (there is a signal as the 1 minute recording plays fine and has a thumnail) I have traced this to the terratecs second tuner but have yet to find a solution (possibly driver related). I notice that for some reason there are 6 tuners listed in the set up process but haven't had time to investigate why yet.

Running 2x Avermedia M780 cards on Vista Premium x86 with TV Pack. First attempt installed TVPack 08 + PC Runtime + 2 KBs over current install (included both Avermedia Center, AverTV 6, AverClearQAM and x.27 drivers). Install went fine. VMC recognized 2 digital tuners and 2 analog tuners. When the guide populated it showed 10 local HD channels and two different instances of analog channels. One set mapped to the normal 2 digit channel number, the other set mapped to corresponding 3 digital digital channel numbers. But all of those channels were analog. I was previously getting the 10 local HD channels plus a few SD digital QAM cable network channels. SD digital Cable network channels dissappeared with TV Pack install.
I then uninstalled all Avermedia software and .27 drivers. Loaded Aver .29 drivers through Windows update. re-ran VMC setup and found both analog and digital tuners. Guide now shows only the 10 local HD channels and the 70 or so analog channels, nothing else. Previously using Avermedia ClearQAM was able to get 10 local HD channels plus 10 to 12 SD cable network digital channels via QAM (Disney, Discovery , ESPN2, WGN, HGTV, ABCFam and a few others). Now the cable network clear QAM channels don't come in. I don't see any method to manually add clear QAM channels after the autoscan. Is anyone else experiencing this problem of lost QAM channels? Has anyone found a way to add lost QAM channels back once removed? Let me know.

Installed over working Media Center although I only re-installed about a month ago as I migrated to x64. Installation went smoothly although have had to jump through a few hoops to get both tuners recognised. Still facing an issue after each time I reboot with live TV reporting an error with the decoder, so far stopping and restarting the MCE services a few times solves this (could be I'm trying too soon after the machine boots up).
Not sure I'll risk this on our main Media Center machine (running Vista Home Premium SP1 also with a Nova-T-500) due to the above issues and the risk of wrecking our only source of TV viewing. I do have Windows Home Server so curiosity might get the better of me though as can always do a restore.
If this got an official release then I'd be very happy and would move the Nova-T-500 from the desktop PC to the main MCE machine. Really like the simplified TV setup and the user interface tweaks. Well done MCE team and evil stares at the management!

Already had the A180 installed with the latest drivers from Avermedia's website. Installed TV Pack on a pre-existing install of Vista Home Pro. It cleared out my recording and TV setting. Did the TV setup and everthing and it found my ATI Theater 550 Pro analog card and my Aver A180 card as cable clear QAM. It didn't find any QAM channels, but I entered them in manually and selected the corresponding analog channel and combined them. Everything works great!!!
Quick question. Where is the setting to tell it to record from the digital card or the analog card? I have two recordings at the same time and both are on both the analog and digital channels. I want to specifically choose one to be on the analog card and one to be on the digital card but don't know how. Thanks.

Both Analog and ClearQAM on NJ Cablevision work after installing avermedia beta drivers
Veeper:Everything is working perfectly now. It was just tweaking on my part that I needed to do.I would encourage everyone that can't get the QAM tuner to show up, and hasn't tried, to simply manually add the digital tuner, and then manually add the channels. Worked great for me.

taward:ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI card (supposedly does QAM, but I presume it's only with ATI software)So, I installed the TV pack and got almost no love....Questions: Why only 1 QAM tuner? Does the ATI 650 not do QAM?

Here are the tunners I have tried; only one has worked for tuning Qam so far :
I purchased a Hauppauge HVR-2250 (8880) (PCI Express) to get ClearQam in VMC, but I had no luck even with a clean install and the TV Pack. I tried the drivers on the disk and the website, and I even tried the Hauppauge Beta Qam Driver and utility and it didnt work either. Any body have suggestions with the 2250 and Qam. I felt like I had wasted $150 when many people could get it to work with QAM. I can get NTSC only, not even ATSC.
After many days of trying different things I put my ATI Theater 650 Pro (PCI ) back in to use as ATSC tuner; when I ran the setup it found QAM on this card and not the HVR-2250 which was on the same coax splitter. The Hauppuage could only find analog signals. The ATI tuner found 8 unecrypted digital channels and about 340 others that are encrypted. I am using the drivers from ATI posted 8/20/2008
I tried a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600 Model 1199 (PCI) but it does not see QAM, only ATSC and NTSC, but the good news is you can configure both ATSC and NTSC tuners at the same time. VMC only recognizes one when it searches, but if you manually configure it will ask if you want to configure additional tuners. I also tried the beta Hauppauge QAM drivers and it gave me the hardware failure when you run the application (same as HVR-2250)
I also have a Dvico FusionHDTV7 Dual Express (PCI Express) and it can only receive ATSC in VMC, it won't recognize NTSC in VMC but it will in Dvico's application.
And finally my ATI based HD Theater 600 (PCI Express) works with Qam just as well as the ATI 650 Pro. It is a Powercolor HD Theater 600 PCI-E. This card was only $69.99USD. At first the TV Signal wizard recognized it as a Analog tuner, but I manually configured it and it was recognized as a Qam tuner aswell. When I first scanned channels it only found 2, then when I reran it it again it found 6 more, then I manually added 3 that I knew about. All channels are received well with no stutter or drop out.
Here is my hardware if it makes a difference: Mobo: Asus P5N Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS (320mb) OS: Vista Ultimate 32bit Cable Provider: Comcast
Hope this helps and costs other alot less to find a working solution.
