one more problem:
The .dll playback earlyer recorded .wtv H.264 HD recordings, so it is working.
But still not able to scan or lock on to the DVBt channels in H.264, only mpeg2.
Anyone got any solution on this ?
mtudor: StumpyBloke: GolfCaddy:One issue I have had is with ffwd and rewind when watching recorded HD content and also doing the same within chase play - Media Center reports errors and either restarts or stops completely (although fairly gracefully). Golfcaddy, I have the exact same problem (always have) - do you have an NVidia video card by any chance? I am running on a 8600GT but have also tried a 8900 GS (I think thats the model) with the exact same problem. The only way I have ever got it stable (and then it was REALLY stable) is by using an ATI HD3850 card. Unfortunately this brought in a whole raft of other problems. Rich I can confirm that I have this problem too. I'm using a Gainward 8600GT (for its acceleration of H.264 - maybe it's the acceleration that is the problem?). Playback of BBC HD is perfect - smooth and pin-sharp. The moment I try to jump forward, back, or fast forward, back, Media Center crashes. I might try disabling hardware acceleration at some point and see what happens. With regard to the DLL fix, like everyone else I just want to say thank you so much to asm495 and xs4all for their work on this. It's been fascinating to watch your progress and how you went about patching the DLL. Thanks for the entertainment and the beautiful HD ;-) Mark.

I'm not sure this is down to the Nvidia drivers because the dll is working fine for me, I can ffwd and rwnd BBC HD without any crashing using an 8600gt with latest drivers and today swapped the card for a 9500gt again without issue. I wonder if its a combination of other software or codecs on your pc causing the problem?
charlas:Like I said before, they disabled more than just the codec in the RTM, they disabled the ability for VMC to display none generic tv broadcasts. I know the DLL that the code for that is in, but never had any luck changing it, hense the reason I started to use DVB etc. I'll have a fresh look at it over the weekend, but during the beta we could never get the 'HD Disabled Beta' to change it's mind on scanning the hd defined channels. My biggest problem is we don't have any HD dvb-t channels in the UK, so it's difficult for me to test. Saying that my DVBSBridge 'trick' might work for you. Oh and for those that want to 'play' try DVBViewer tuning using full parameters SID/PID etc (11.428H 27500, SID=10510, 3401 VPID, 3402 APID) for ITV-HD Oh and for those that want to try hack out the generic 'Digital Television Service' requirement for tuning it's in the ehglid.dll
Did I understand it correctly. If we could use beta ehglid.dll with TV Pack it would then find H.264 DVB-T channels again?
charlas: Just looking at NZ tv stuff, most of the HD channels I can see information for state their broadcast flag's are HD(h.264) and therefore wont be scanned.
Intel DP965LT motherboard, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6300 1.86GHz, Nvidia Geforce 8600GT PCI-E, 2 GB Ram, 6TB HDD space, Blackgold BGT 3540, Hauppauge HVR 2200 & Nova S Plus, Windows 7 Pro, 3 XBOX 360's as extenders

So Charlas (or anyone) are you aware of any way to manually ad DVB-T HD H.264 channels, directly adding to the registry say? I'm no expert in this sort of thing, hardly even more than a newbie but us poor saps in NZ were so looking forward to getting this going again!
I'm a bit confused,
This file xs4all used to test with is not a HD file, and works even with the original TV Pack dll.(http://w14.easy-share.com/1701207119.html)
The new fixed dll crashes my VMC when I switch to a HD channel, somtimes I get a few seconds with some green lines...
Vista says it's the display driver that crashes..
I'm using the buldt in vga output of the mainboard, maybe it's not good enough???
I'm using Fire-DTV Cable with the beta drivers for Tv pack, I'm in Norway(canal digital cable).Anyone from scandinavia that got the fixed dll to work?
HD channels work in FireDTV-viewer with Core AVC codec.

Ok, tried it with the timebombe dll, and setting the date back, same problem.
I' guess I need a dedicated graphics card for my VMC pc...

I am currently using the fixed dll with FireDTV DVB-C tuners and YouSee in Denmark, and can watch the TV2Sport HD channel. Just so you know it can work :-)

Tried it on my laptop, works great there :)
Time to upgrade the media center pc..
Many HD channels are found in Norway, DiscoveryHD, EurosportHD, NatGeoHD,VoomHD,SilverHD, but not Canal+Film HD and SVTHD wonder why?

Are you using FireDTV DVB-C tuners? Just curious, since most users are having problems tuning the HD channels, but it seems like you are getting most of them...
Well Denmark here.. and I could not get vista to scan any of my h.264 channels.
Then I tried dvbsbridge and the info provided by Charlas and now it works :) ;)
I also registered the new msdtvvdec.dll
Bonus is I now have the exact number of channels I want and no opportunistic scanning is taking place. :)
Will do some more testing, but I am pleased.... Watching TV2SportHD and K5HD at last..
Am using Floppy dtv dvb-c, fiji driver.
