asm495: As for the stuttering in BBC HD - I think the H.264 DLL uses hardware acceleration if it available. I suggest you look at getting a ATI 3450 card which has full hardware support - can be had for £25. What I use and does the job really well.

Unfortunately the Acer Aspire iDea is a nice piece of kit but as it's designed as a slimline media center there's not much room to upgrade inside. It's built more like a laptop.
I assume the Media Center part of Windows 7 is where the progress is now being made. The pressure's off thanks to the great work done here, but I wonder if the DLL from milestone 3 could be dropped into Fiji? Timebombed at some future point of course. Any leak yet?

I've taken some time off from looking into it as it burned me out after a week of debugging. The tools aren't so good for debugging 64 bit apps and so I think it will be a harder task. I might take another look in another couple of weeks. However, from what I understand the 64 bit version of the beta DLL was far more unstable in any case. I wouldn't hold out hope of an immediate solution so for the time being if you are desperate for H.264 you'll need to use 32 bit.
stephen20vt:Yes, I got the same problem running "regsvr32 /u msdtvvdec.dll". Normally regsvr32 /u will inform you with a message box that the call to DllUnregisterServer succeeded or failed, but it did neither. It did just as you described, marmite, and sits there eating ~50% cpu and doesn't quit. I rebooted into safe mode and could rename it and register the modified msdtvvdec.dll, but it was all to no avail. When I do a scan, it finds all the Irish channels ok, but I get a "Decoder Error" (or sometimes a No Signal) when I try to view them (they all display fine using MediaPortal with CoreAVC). I can't help but think that the unregister of the rtm dll cleanly removes some registry entries that cause the modified beta dll problems. I haven't tried BBC HD on DVB-S yet, or the posted .wtv file, will try those tonight. I didn't notice the ehrecvr process, but then again, I was killing every process that was media center related to try to get the dll to unregister properly!

Well, it's good know, I'm not alone with these symptoms! I was getting Decoder Error too sometimes also. I also tried safe mode with same results. I also tried copy the original back and trying to unregister with that in place, but same result. I've tried stopping all the firewalls's/protection but still same problem.
I'm thinking of wiping the system and starting over, but I really don't want, nor do I know won't be exactly the same :(
pnag:Hi stephen20vt,*Might* be a dumb question, but are you sure it's the DVB-T RTE you're trying to watch, and not the satellite DVB-S version? The Astra RTE is encrypted (as you probably know, but just checking) so be sure to set the source to your DVB-T stick only?
Hey pnag,
Yes, I'm positive it's DVB-T. My blackgold tuner has 2 x DVB-T and 2 x DVB-S. I've only configured the DVB-T tuners in VMC at the moment, one step at a time you know
AltDVB and MediaPortal can view all 4 terrestrials using CoreAVC perfectly.

Am I doing something odd, or is it something I don't understand?
As far as I know the dll includes codecs, and the beta a h.264 as well.
I am using the TV Pack with the cracked beta dll without any other codec software except divX and everything is working fine except that I have to reboot every day, but I had to do that also during the beta period. (I find the TV Pack standard codec more stable..)
Should I use PDVD or other? What would be the benifit? HW acceleration?
firstly i wish to thank every one -
I have full control of the .dll, and also the owner.
However when i am in comand prompt i get a error
"the module "msdtvvdec.dll" was loaded but the call to DLLUnregisterServer failed with error0x80070005
is there another way to unregister the dll.
i have vista ultermate
manty thanks

Did you ran command prompt as administrator (right click -> run as administrator)?
divad2:HiI have the Intel G35 chipset which I am generally very pleased with - does anybody have any information or can post links on how this chipset performs with this codec because I understand it doesn't perform very well and could future intel driver releases improve this ?Also can anybody confirm that the multiple tuner hack ( ie more than 2 ) does not work with Fiji TV pack update ?Any other major problems ?Also can someone confirm if I have read this thread right -The red button works with dvbt and can be made to work with dvbs via a hackBBC HD is freely available without using dvbbridge hack ITV HD available via a workaroundMany thanks

However, Home Premium supports 2 tuners of each type (e.g. you could have 2x DVB-S and 2x DVB-T). Ultimate supports 4 tuners of each type. No major issues with TV Pack for me Red button does work in DVB-T out-the-box and DVB-S can be enabled via a registry setting. DVB-T support is excellent, DVB-S is a bit flakey. BBC HD requires a DVB-S tuner and the modified MSDTVVDEC.DLL ITV HD requires a DVB-S tuner, the modified MSDTVVDEC.DLL, a manual satellite scan and the registry change to set MHEG support (red button) on DVB-S Neither BBC or ITV HD need DVBSBridge
divad2:Thanks for your quick replyCan you have 2 analogue tuners as well ? ( to use for capture )I would be happy with 4 tuners if they could all share the same epg - can DVB-S and DVB-T share the same epg ?Can you use one card with multiple tuners on the same card both DVB-S and DVB-T like the Blackgold one which has 2 DVB-T , 2 DVB-S and 2 analogue or would they have to be on separate cards ?If you enable the red button hack for DVB-S does it stop working for DVB-T ?I have heard third party add ons are affected eg DRVMS toolbox because I use TunerfreeMCE and Vista Yougle alotI would like to know if anybody has tested this with the G35 Intel chipsetThanks
As far as I'm aware you can have two tuners of each type (4 with Ultimate), but the problem with the BlackGold is that the DVB-T and and annalouge tuners are hybrid so you can only use one or the other not both, this does not affect the DVB-S side of things as thats a seperate tuner.
Yes DVB-S and DVB-T can share the same EPG.
I think you will find a lot of add on's are now broken, the TV Pack also uses a new recording format WTV, although things will change soon as they get updated.
I am using Tv Pack on the G35.
It works fine, but the modified beta dll is a little unstable..
Need to reboot once a day approx..
I am not using any other codec (PDVD etc) so that might be the reason.
