    Hi all,

I just wanted to add something to this as I have just changed over my Hauppauge 150's to floppyDTV C.

I did a fresh install for the Tv pack a few weeks back using my old tuners (I connect to STB's) everything works great. I decided I wanted to try the FloppyDTV C cards to get FTA channels I plugged them in and got them working nice and easy with VMC, scanned for channels and it picked up BBC HD and ITV HD. I went off flicking through the channels to see what was what and decide to click on BBC HD thinking that it would not work as I have not installed the hacked DLL but to my suprise I actually get a picture with sound albeit the picture stutters but never the less it works!!

Just thought I would share this with you all, as it seems amazing to me that it works.

    Any Questions...!!?

    Mark,

PS. ITV HD just has a black screen as expected...now to just solve the stuttering

    Hi Mark,

Do you have a Cyberlink decoder installed by any chance?

Nope I have only got CoreAVC installed and I have not made any changes to use anything apart from the default MS encoder.

I was just reading another post and it twigged that I might have actually setup a CableCard system (without the CableCard) !! correct me if I am wrong..

Has anybody tried out the X64 decoder from Windows 7 in Vista X64 at all? I've been recording BBC HD programmes in anticipation of being able to watch them one day!

    Hi guys,

I have BBC HD but for some reason, the ITV HD channel just comes up 'Digital Audio Service'.  Is there a way of curing this ?

    Thanks

Refer to this thread http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/306764.aspx and see the first post and refer to question Q. What else do I need to do to get BBC HD and ITV HD working?

    Hi,

sorry for bringing up an obviouly solved problem (except for me).

    I'm not able to un-register msdtvvdec.dll.

I was able to 'takeown /F:.....' (cmd run as admin) but 'icacls..." doesn't find the file....

regsvr32 /u ... goes simply to the next prompt without an (error) message and after having replaced the dll with the hacked one I get the ' 80004005"-error

    What can I do?

    Thanks

If I understand you correctly I think you are doing things in the wrong order.  Try this...

    1. Take ownership of RTM dll

    2. Un-register RTM dll.

    3. Rename RTM dll.

    4. Copy beta dll to this location.

    5. Register beta dll.

    Hi RussKing,

    thanks for the feedback.

Yes, that is exactly how I have tried to do this (my description was a little bit short):

I tried to take over the dll in the explorer-window. But this didn't work (UAC disabled), so I tried the suggestions here: http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/permalink/293472/296862/ShowThread.aspx#296862

After the "takeown" I was able also in the explorer to get control over the dll. but the "regsvr32 /u"-part doesn't seem to work: just a new promt without a message and the failor to register the new one (funny: I can register the allready registered RTM.dll; I get a confirmation that it was successfully registered).

I think there is still a problem with access rights / user-control, but I don't know where and what.

    Any Tips?

    regards

You can use this soft : http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ , with it you could delete and replace this dll easily.

    Thanks Kimzey,

it's an interesting tool. Maybe usefull for other things. But unfortunately it says more or less 'nothting locked with the dll' and just offers to rename is etc....

By the way: after having launched regsvr32, it uses up 50% of CPU. That was discribed bevor (page 25-28 in this threat I think). So something is wrong...

There is another way, launch services.msc stop all the Windows Media Center services, take ownership and rename the DLL, copy the new one in, regsvr32 it, then re-start the services (or just restart the pc).

Or even easier, start in safe mode and do it.

    Should work fine.

I've held off installing the TV pack and the modded DLL but while building a new system (Sluttle bare bone, G33 chipset, ATI HD 4350 graphics card) I decided to do it.

I've followed the instructions from this thread, but I can't get it to work properly. When I switch to a  H.264 HD channel (this is DVB-T in Sweden) I get picture and audio - stuttering significantly - for about 15-30 seconds, then the screen goes black, there is no audio and Vista Media Center hangs. It needs to be killed using the task manager.

The event logs show messages indicating that ehshell stopped communicating with Windows and also that the ATI driver reported "invalid parameter" and then crashed.

I have to reboot the machine in order to get even SD channels to work.

Wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior? Could it be an ATI driver issue?

    thanks

    G33 has trouble with H.264.

You can try to change the resolution on your screen, begin at low res. (848x480)
